In the barren wasteland that was once a thriving town stands a lone prospector. His clothes are caked with dried mud from countless hours standing in the freezing creek with his gold pan swishing the water and silt of the river bed in search of treasure. The lines on his face marked the passage of time and his frustration over his unsuccessful search. With winter fast approaching, the prospector knew his time was running out before snow would cover the landscape and he would be left to fend off the cold without his prized treasure. The harsh autumn sun pounded down upon him as he sought shelter among the trees and bushes that lined the river. He reached into his pocket to retrieve the folded paper that talked about the treasures he longed to find. The paper was creased and wrinkled and had begun to deteriorate from all the wear and tear from the prospector examining the details. The colors were long ago faded from the page but that did not matter because the prospector knew these treasures like his own children. The three items he sought were bright and beautiful when they were new. Their colors sparkled in the sun and were adorned with a metal post on the back to fasten them to clothing and picture mats. All three of these items commemorated an anniversary for a faraway land called Epcot. The first item showed a purple dragon and a large golf ball like structure. Words surrounded the dragon proclaiming, “Celebrating! 20 Years of Discovery”. The second treasure showed future transportation of railways with only one track. The golf ball like structure looms in the background behind architecture from around the world. Above and below the graphics are the words, “Epcot 20 Years of Discovery”. The third and final treasure is shaped like a smiling rodent wearing red shorts and big yellow shoes. In his hand are a series of balloons each shaped like a mouse head but colored like flags from around the world. The prospector gazed at the paper wondering if he would ever find these long lost treasures. Quietly with a forlorn look upon his face, he carefully folded his paper placing it in his pocket. He gathered up his things and began to make his journey to the next bend in the creek hoping his luck would change and he would find these beautiful pins.
