The Tag Fairy

i just started a thread on the universal side about my oct stay for 2006.

if i remember correctly the second weekend, f-s-s-
pb: $231
hrh:$233
rp: 183

all plus tax per night.

i always stay at hrh and posted what should i do........go cheaper or what.
imagine, even pb is cheaper this time.
those rates are with the AAA........

keishashadow........i will either leave columbus day or the day after to come home. thinking of leaving one day later in order to come back on that tues.

Yep ::yes:: You are!

 I am too far away to go to USO any time soon!

only if you walk it...........it would be quicker to fly.

do you go to CA or FL for uso?

I'm curious as to what the airfare will be...

Know when we went during President's Day, we had to fly 2 Sundays' beforehand and waited until Tuesday after to return (a wonderful 10 day trip-wish we could always stay that long - the perfect amount of time IMO).

We had initially wanted to start the trip the Saturday beforehand but the cost was prohibitive. The fares were "out of sight" from Thursday on the week before. Even the rental cars were much higher the week of Pres Day.

I yearn for the old days when you could book airfare more than a few months out and know what to budget for...probably are still airlines that do; I just book the cheapies.:)

As for Loews, I think it's hit or miss as to when the discounts come out. We booked @ rack rate initially; and had them apply a PAP discount later. I've been finding that AAA is showing the best disc. Wonder if PAP's are released closer to arrival time if the hotels aren't full?

I am closer to DL and California US, but have not been there for years and years! We enjoy the Florida 'versions'! :wizard: The cost of the airfare is the worst part of the trip for us.....I know the accommodations are pricey....but we really shudder at having to pay the airlines! We're supposed to go to Orlando next year, before summer....but still waiting for DH to decide when so I can start reservations. We have never stayed on property at USO. I still have passes left over from our last trip to Florida.

What airport do you fly out of...excuse me, my geography (or lack thereof) is showing LOL. Probably would take you days to drive. I'm told we're at least 20 hours away (no thank you!).

queenie, the pap rates are released much later, sometimes they even drop the weeks before you are to go and stay on site. call up to the time before you leave and get your rate modified.

the AAA rates come out very early, they are out now for next october.
i still call as sometimes they also drop about 3 weeks prior to my stay.

mtblujeans........kewl, you get to go to the mother land this coming year !!

spirit air is not longer having the chgo/orlando route as of late january.
think i will have to check out usa3000 for next years flight.

i think we need the tag fairys' opinion on this one gals........

it's 5:00 and nobody home here.........

maybe the tag fairy will suprise us this weekend.........what better time than veterans day weekend for us.

i love our vets

We fly out of Glacier International. I wouldn't try to drive it....I have a bad back and could never sit that long! :teeth:

I am going over to Hallmark today as they are having an Open House with some sort of surprises! I am also armed with a Yankee Candle coupon! :sunny:

maybe they will have a tag fairy ornament............

if they do, buy two.......one for me......

Senior moment...I forgot you live out in the Sturgis neck of the woods...you wouldn't believe the number of people I know who make the pilgrimage each year for the event. DH keeps throwing hints for that mid-life Harley...not satisfied w/the DVC points I bought during mine LOL.

I'm getting ready to make the 150 mile round trip to nearest Wendy's with AirTran cups. Got credit for the first batch I sent in, need to go scoop up some more. The things I do to satisfy my WDW/Univ. habit. Good weekend to all!

Actually, I got a 'free gift bag' that had some Hallmark goodies in it and one of the items was a 2005 Santa ornament! But, that gives me an idea....we could certainly design Tag Fairy ornaments and create something ourselves with some decorating of a 'plain' ornament.....?

DH was wanting to get motorcycles for retirement when I met him 20 years ago! Actually, it sounds more appealing today than it did then! :rotfl: He's been to Sturgis but that was before my time.... and probably with someone else!

My DH did his riding days before he met me too...too late for him to get any more bikes.;) All I needed to hear was how he "laid down 2 bikes", didn't need to hear any more.

I think the ornaments should have dancing  's on them.

I'm sitting here waiting for the guys from Loews to show up with my new refrigerator...woo-hoo, you know you're old when you get excited about major appliances.

it has been lousy weather here for us.
our power went out 20 hours ago and just came on .........dis withdrawal had already set in.

wow, i missed you guys.
and was hoping keisha would have been tagged in my time of outage.......

I know what you mean about the appliances....I need to get a new countertop stove and the pressure of making the decision about which one to get is just more than I can handle!! :rotfl:

Wow, and here I thought you guys were out having one heck of a great weekend that you had not checked back into the TAG HEAD THREAD!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

i have a question...

what is the earliest you have seen someone with a tag?

for example: i saw someone with 105 posts already with a tag

I can't say I really have noticed how long someone has been posting on the boards when I see they get a tag. I mostly just like to tease them about what the tag is about! :teeth:

I have noticed on the CB that tagging usually goes on in a frenzy during an odd time - or it seems like an off time to me! Maybe late on a Sunday night or something like that....when you least expect it! ;)

i thought i posted my story on here.....wait, could have been another board.

ok, sit down, don't want you to fall and hurt yourself when i tell you my saga.

on the 9th post i made on the dis board, i received my first tag.
on my 11th post , i received my 2nd tag
on my , thinking it was, 17th post, got tag #3.......

and the change in my siggie of tom whoever's house came with the last tag.

but it has been over, well over 9000 posts since my last tag and i have grown up now and realize how kewl it is to get them..........that's why i beg for another one.......

so, now you know someone that received a tag with only 9 posts to her name
all three tags before i hit 18 posts..........

As the little green (alien) men would say in Toy Story: Ooooooooooooooooo! You are chosen! You are chosen!! :teeth:

As the teasing begins...... :rolleyes1

thats awsome macraven
i would love to get a tag sometime in my dis lifetime...... :teeth:
