The Tag Fairy is very upset.

The Tag fairy contacted me tonite. They are very upset. They exist to bring joy and happiness and surprises to people.
They can't do that any more. The tag fairy has decided to go back to what made people happy.
They are going to surprise people, the way it was in the begining and the way it was meant to be. What that means is that if you ask for a tag you can expect not to get it. If you start clapping threads, begging threads, email, pm, instant message or telegram anyone...you can expect not to be tagged.
They ONLY way to be tagged is for the tag fairy to find you and surprise you.
Everyone should also realize that the tag fairy doesn't tag based on how popular you are. Usually it's a split second decision because something caught their eye.
The Tag fairy also asked me to say that they really hope everyone goes along with this. They really don't want to leave the Dis... but they may have to.... unless they can go back to bringing joy to people....

I did claping posts and all that the two ties I was tagged and have done more posts since I accidentallly erased my old tag. I must say I haven't done any for awhile though. I apologize to the Tag Fairies and hope they will forgive me. I guess it is better when you are surpised rather then expecting it.

The Tag Fairy makes the words under your username in color (something only they can do) they usually change the words too, to reflect past posts that you made, describing your personality.

I agree with what you said. On the second day that I was a member, I was tagged by surprise. I was really excited and liked it a lot and now I just wait and hope that i get another one. Being surprised is twice the fun! SURPRISE

I'm not a teen, but my lil sis loozianalooza00 is.

Supposedly, the Tag Fairy hangs around the boards and gets to know DISers sorta "behind the scenes". The Tag Fairy does this by reading posts. If something you said strikes the Tag Fairy, he/she will post a colored "tag" under your user name and above your avatar refering to or copying what you posted on a thread. Sometimes it can take years, sometimes it can take weeks. You know you've been tagged if you hadn't written it in your profile yourself AND that the writing is COLORED--only the Tag Fairy can post "tags" in color (once you're a DIS "vet"--not a "Welcomed Guest" anymore, you can manually change the words under your username --like I did--by going to "user CP" at the top of the page, but they will NOT be in color). Most DISers consider it an honor to be tagged. I've even seen some posters "bribe" or "beg" the Tag Fairy for a tag--it's actually quite pitiful (IMHO), and, like the Original Poster (OP) said, IT WON"T WORK in the future. Some posters will actually start a thread that goes something like: *The following is an example only--it's for teaching purposes:

"Tag Fairy, Tag Fairy--Tag me! Clap! Clap! Clap Clap! Clap!. . . ."

Sometimes there'd be, like, 40 "claps".
