The Sword in the Stone

Every time the commercial for DL comes on....a little kid pulls the sword from the stone.Does this EVER happen? It would be funny to see.

there is or was a big todo about 3pm at WDW everyday but I can't find anything anywhere about it at DL.

At DL it will randomly come out. It doesn't come out all the way, just a foot or so. My friend has a picture on her FB from a day she "pulled the sword from the stone". No clue as to the rhyme or reason of when it comes loose.

They used to have a really fun show hosted by Merlin where he would pick a child to try and pull the sword from the stone, and they would become king (or queen) for the day. They got a certificate and everything. But alas, the show is no more. Budget cuts, no doubt.

my 5 year old daughter last Sept pulled it out at WDW. It not only shocked her but us also. You have to be quick with the pics, I would say you have about 30-45 seconds before it sinks back into the stone.

On mouse wait last night, people were saying that 5 kids in a row pulled it out last night. I guess the CMs can control it.

I've always wanted to do this since I was a child! Every time I go to DL I try to pull it at least once. A few years back I noticed a crowd around the sword and stopped by to take a look. Merlin was out there looking for candidate and I was stoked to high heaven when he chose me. I was smiling from ear to ear and got caught up in the moment. For a moment I thought that sword was mine and on my way to a dream come true.

Nope!

He baited me, I was the pun of the show. Weighing in over 220 pounds and over 6 feet I was the perfect pawn. After I displayed to the crowd I was a complete wussified weakling, Merlin chose a little boy from the crowd to pull out the sword. I bet that made his vacation, little *******!!!

Great story! Maybe when you are elderly you can be the "weak" one that actually gets to pull it out. Don't lose hope!
