The Survivor Thread: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites

I'll collect everyone's points tomorrow and post them all in one post... but right now I'm still holding out hope that they are not finished tallying all the points...

There are two very obvious big fans of Survivor, and then it seems like there's the rest of us Of course, I could be mistaken.

I watched the first two seasons and then I've watched from Pearl Islands onward, but there's that huge gap in the middle of seasons I've missed. I didn't know who half the players were in the All-Star season and I don't know who a couple are on the favorites team this season.

There was no individual immunity challenge last night. So you got 30 extra points for every favs player.

You're ahead of me.... I am Survivor clueless. I watched two episodes previous to this season, and that was only because of a contest I was in that required me to write an episode for Survivor (I seriously had to learn what the show was even about before I could begin to actually write!).

I am not familiar with ANY of the favorites... So I'm still learning my way around them all....

I started this at a big disadvantage, just going on first impressions...

Thankfully, I only had one favorite on my team at the time, so my score won't drop that much, but it'll still put me below 300

I wish we could know if people got "playing an idol" points last week.

Who here had Yau-Man on their team last week? Wasn't he the one that had the immunity idol? I can't remember what went on at last week's tribal council, but I do remember it was the Favorites that went.... So did Yau-Man play his idol and gain immunity?

Did anyone have that bonus option picked for him that could confirm they did or did not receive bonus points??

I'm just going off what is says on the Fantasy League stats information:

"The highest scoring "Dream Team" would include Kathleen: 77 points (with Finds Hidden Immunity Idol bonus category assigned), Yau-Man: 48 points (with Finds Hidden Immunity Idol bonus category assigned), Tracy: 45 points, and Joel: 41 points with a Team total of 211 points."

To me that says that the idols they grabbed off of the boats at the beginning of the first episode were "Hidden Immunity Idols." So logically, they could get points for playing the hidden immunity idols. Unless they don't consider it "playing" the idol since it HAD to be played. But as Pink pointed out, Kathy did have the option to give it away.

I just traded Joel for Amanda, as he was a bust and if I had 4 favs instead of 3, I would have had 313 points instead of 258

Well, who in their right mind would have chosen "plays a hidden immunity idol" for anyone in the first episode? Something would be awfully fishy if someone had the foresight to pick that.

And Tokey, how do you have 69 bonus points? I thought bonus points would always be in multiples of 30.

That was last weeks details. They just updated it for this week.

For the second episode of Survivor: Micronesia there were a total of 707 possible points up for grabs. This weeks high score "Dream Team" would include Ozzy: 83 points (with either Catches a Fish or Kisses Another Survivor bonus category assigned), Amanda: 80 points (with Kisses Another Survivor bonus category assigned), Ami: 77 points (with Kisses Another Survivor bonus category assigned), and Jason: 51 points (with Tries to Open a Coconut bonus category assigned) for a Team total of 291 points. The most active point category was "Jeff Probst says your name" with 102 occurrences. This was also the category with the most points awarded at 306 points.


Edit: Someone let me know who Ami kissed, I only saw Amanda kissing Ozzy.

Well, that really really stinks that we don't get those bonus points for Kathleen. That's the reason why I went with her.... I was banking on the Favorites winning the challenge and her playing that stupid idol of hers. Grrr...

I SO needed those 30 points to get closer to Pete!

I just rewatched the video clip of the vote. Joel says that he realized on the way to tribal council that he needed to vote for Tracy as a "Failsafe" for his "two alliances of Alexis and Natalie."

Chew on that one.
