Welcome to our Trip Report!

It's not much of a PRE trip report because we are leaving in just 6 short days!

I guess I should tell you who we are...

Me...well, I'm Liz.

I am 33. Married, we'll get to him in a minute. I'm mom to two kiddos, Hannah is 10 and Nicholas is 6.

(my kids are in the middle :rotfl2:)

I work at a local university. I listen to park music all day long at work. Vinylmation Mickeys are starting to take over my desk. I have WDW on the brain all the time. I have a sickness, but it's a sweet, sweet sickness!

I guess I better introduce Matt.

He's 37, but will turn 38 on this trip. He's an Elementary School Principal, who works incredibly hard and loves his job. We are celebrating (a little early) our 13th anniversary on this trip. We have made this trip a priority the past 5 years for just us. We both look forward to this trip every year...sometimes I look forward to it more than family vacations. Shhhh...don't tell our kids! ;)

As a child I went to WDW 3 times. The last time I went as a child, I was 7, it was during the 15 year celebration of the MK. I won a pin at the turnstile. It was glorious. I loved all things Disney. I snatched up the Disney Store Catalogs that would come in the mail. I taped the Full House episodes at WDW and watched them a lot. I became crazy for Pooh during my teen years....yea, yea, yea I know...go on and giggle. :rotfl2: For some reason my parents wanted to go to the beach every summer instead of WDW. So when I got engaged in 1999 I knew the only condition of this wedding was the honeymoon...we were going to WDW. Thankfully Matt obliged, but he wanted a cruise, so we did the land and sea package when the Wonder was brand new.

So fast forward to now, I have infected my husband and my children with this WDW sickness. We go several times a year, sometimes with kids, sometimes not. This is a sometimes not trip. :yay:

Here's the details: (cause we all know it's about the details)

We are leaving 10/31. Instead of flying out on our beloved Southwest from our home airport in Nashville, we are driving to Atlanta and flying out Airtran. I'm a little nervous about this detail. We both plan on working a half day on the 31st and then hitting the road. Our flight is not until 10:30pm, but the logistics of this scares me. Crossing our fingers we can get around crazy Atlanta traffic and get the car parked with plenty of time to spare.:drive:

Oh, wait, I've left out a really important detail. The kids. Thankfully my sweet aunt will be taking care of them while we are away. She's the best!

Back to our flight...we are scheduled to land at midnight. :sad2: But the issue with that was, our package didn't start until 11/1. Matt wanted to just hang around the airport until 4 or 5am and then get picked up from ME. That did not sound like a good plan to me. I didn't want to look like "The Traveller" sculpture in the airport. You know the one. It looks so real. Still creeps me out after 13 years of seeing him.

Not wanting to look like that guy, I booked another night at Pop Century with the fall room only discount. Would I have loved to have saved that $90 for a bunch of dole whips and some more vinylmation? You betta believe it! Did I? Nope. Oh well, we can start our day a little more refreshed after some rest in our room and not a vinyl airport chair...at least that's the plan.

We are doing the Quick Service Free Dining Plan and staying at Pop Century from 10/31-11/5. As of right now, I have not made any out of pocket dining reservations. Which is weird to us, but should make for a fun adventure.

I'm hoping for a sneak peek of Fantasyland...seems everyone else has had one! :) I've been so amazed at all of the twitter pictures I've been seeing of the details. I plan on tweeting from the parks, my twitter name is the same, eowensby. We would love to have you join us!

Now that this important part of the planning is out of the way, I guess it's time to start thinking of packing!

TWO Days! We're ready to go...well mentally, not physically. Nothing is packed for us or the kids as they will be heading to their Aunt's house for the next 6 days. In my head it's all packed and ready. Gotta get started on that. :lmao:

I really hope you'll join us on this journey. I will be tweeting some from the parks. My twitter name is @eowensby. And I promise to get the actual trip report done in a timely manner. I'll even bring you all back Mickey bars or Dole Whips...your choice! ;)

See ya Real Soon! :moped:
