Dont' be scared.
And don't take this the wrong way =).
I'd like to talk about assisted suicide. And I'm not talking about some random kid who's tired of life asking for his friends help.
I'm talking about people requesting to die.
This topic, came to my mind after watching The Hour (Canadian news talk show thing..) and the director of The Suicide Tourist (documentary) John Zaritsky was on it, talking about it.
His film was centered around this organization in Switzerland called Dignitas, helps assist people with their wish to die. Zurich, is the only place in the world where assisted suicide is allowed.
Not all people, choose this path, not because their sad or depressed, but because they are very close to death, or know they will not last long enough for the suffering to be worth it.
This one man, chose to be assisted with his death, because he really only had a year left, and he didn't want to suffer, and didn't want his wife to watch him suffer. And, his COMPLETELY health wife chose, that she too would die, in his arms. Because life without him, was not worth living.
I may post more later, but I have some questions for you.
How do you feel about assisted suicide? Do you thtink people should have the right to die?
Would you, at any point consider this path, if life became unbearable either due to emotional problems or being terminally ill?
What would you do if your partner/sibling/parent/friend, wanted to die this way?
And don't take this the wrong way =).
