I don't watch anything that has ads at home. I was watching something on a Roku on the Roku channels with my daughter that had ad breaks. It wasn't all that intrusive, just 30 second ads during scene changes as it was a live musical we were watching. I noticed however that about 90% of it was propaganda being shoved at the viewer.I use the mute button a lot when watching TV. Lately it is a lot of political ads, lawyers asking you to join some lawsuit or the endless ads for various prescription drugs. I would imagine doctors waste a LOT of time explaining to their patients why some drug isn't suitable for them. It isn't like buying laundry detergent or toothpaste......LOL.
The Lume ads for reducing butt odor are worse in my book.

I mean, that has little to nothing to do with cable and more to do with football itself. How are you going to watch a football game live otherwise? How traditional TV even watchable to most people? A 4 hour football game with 2 hours of commercials and 10 minutes of action? How can people suffer through that?
It's usually a 3 hour game (one round at 1pm and the next round at 4pm). The Super Bowl goes longer because of the half time show and extra ceremony. How traditional TV even watchable to most people? No I get that. The way the post I quoted was worded was like you could watch it without the commercials or breaks. Which you can, if you don't watch it live, which kinda defeats the purpose a bit.Football actually became popular because it is so "TV friendly" and the networks knew it. They pushed it because of the ample opportunities for commercials and it is as popular as it is today because of that exposure.
