The Spa Raffle

I wonder if it was accidentally left off of the schedule page. Isn't there always a spa raffle on the first day before the drill?

Always the first day. Isn't it after the drill, before/after sail away?

I looked back at an older Navigator. It was listed under the Adult Activity Highlights:

And in the grid:

But doesn't appear either of those places in recent Navigators.

Have you been before because we felt it was a waste of time. Youhave to be present to win and it is a long advertising spiel

But if you win, it's free money for a spa treatment!

Unless they have some stupid jewelry they throw in there too. Got a choker I never wore and finally just pitched out on one DCL cruise.

But last year on my Brilliance Med cruise I won $150 towards a spa treatment! Got something I'd been eyeing, and it only cost me $25 plus a little tip. :)

Good point. I would probably feel differently if I had won. At the time, however, I was surprised at how long it took and how much marketing was involved and felt like I had missed out on doing something else. I did keep getting invites from the spa throughout that cruise to schedule a service with a discount (I think it was 10% or 20% off certain services or something like that), which I kept planning to do but never got around to. I am pretty sure it was because I went to that raffle event because I have never heard from the spa on another cruise and that's the only time I have been to the raffle. So if you are definitely planning on using the spa it might be a good way to get some percentage off.

I wasn't a fan of the raffle either. It's always on the first day and there is so many other places you can spend you time. Plus with all the excitement it doesn't make sense for us to spend our time crammed into the gym area trying to win like 50 dollars off a treatment. I thought they would be giving out free massages and cool stuff like that but it was only money towards it and the amounts they were giving out wouldn't even cover half the treatment.

They didn't have it on our February Wonder cruise. They did the tours and suck but had no raffle entry forms, woman next to us asked and she was told they were not doing a raffle.

That one was the first spa raffle we have ever been to. And likely the last. :) I felt positively clausterphobic in there.

I bought my husband a Swedish massage one cruise and he did not like it. Another time, I got him the Elemis shave and they used a regular razor and Eleminis products. For that kind of money you would expect a straight razor, close to the skin shave.
My daughter does like her Chill Spa services though...so at least she is pleased with them.

One of the worst massages I've ever had was one I booked on the Fantasy--felt it was a complete waste of money when you leave feeling more tense then you did before the massage! o_O I did like the facial (but not the aggressive sales tactic to buy their products)!!
