The Solarium and Segways?

Just wondering if anyone out there knows if we can have receptions in The Solarium at Disney's Yacht and Beach club and just like the surrey bikes at the boardwalk, can we ride off in segways?

Not sure about the segways, but I asked about a public resort space at the BoardWalk (the lawn in front of the Inn - behind the surrey bike rental stand) and was told that I could not have my ceremony there...so that would probably also be the case for the Solarium since its a public part of the hotel

I haven't the slightest clue... but I think that is a really cute idea and I hope you can make it work!

Princesswendy that would have been so cute to have a wedding there I think! I don't see why they told you that, one of the lawns at the Port Orleans French Quarter is a public area and I've seen a reception happen there before. So weird!! As a matter of fact, a lot of the outdoor reception and ceremony locations are public areas!! Aren't they not?

Thank Doombuggy! We love the idea too, we'd also tie little short cans and a just married sign on our backs.

When we were planning a Wishes event earlier this year, we asked our planner about using the Solarium at BC and were told absolutely not, because "it's not a space used for private events." We were bummed -- it's such a gorgeous spot!

That's what we were told! We wanted to use it as a rain backup.

Thanks for answering my question! It is such a lovely place isn't it? I wish they didn't add that giant t.v. because that's what made it peaceful but ugh, the chairs, the couches, so beautiful. Such a shame that they don't allow events in there, it's hardly used even on peak seasons, I should know, I used to clean the area.
