The Smiths are Heading Back...For 10 Days of Disney Magic! (Updated 8/16)

Hi All!!! We're Back (yet again!)!!!


What do you do in Boston when it's super cold and your are dreading the impending birthday that will make you in your "mid 30s"...you start your long promised PTR!!!!

For those of you who have read my previous PTRs/TRs, I have been promising to start this one since July (complete with a mini-TR for our trip to Ireland) but I just couldn't bring myself to start it when it was SOOOOOO far away! I realize I'm going to sound like a gigantic spoiled brat here but this is the longest we've gone between trips and it was making me a little sad . But here we are...6 months later...in 2011 and I'm thinking it's totally appropriate to start planning. We have have to figure out food choices...ADR day is looming

For those who have never read my reports before, I will back up for introductions for our cast

Hi, I'm Kristine. I'm a dreadfully close to 34 year old wife/mommy/social worker/scrapbooker/sewer.photography enthusiast from Boston!

Here is Princess Aisling (pronounced Ash-ling for those of you who don't speak Gaelic ) She's 7 years old going on 15. You moms of little princesses can understand I'm sure. Case in point, she asked Santa Claus for an IPOD Touch, the 1st Season of Glee...and a Crayon Maker

Last but not least...my Prince Ok, I don't really call him that. This is my personal chef, Randy

Randy puts up with all my Disney whims with very little complaining. And I'll forgive him the few complaints because he ends up being our packmule, will still hold Aisling to see at parades, runs for TSM FPs, carries around AG dolls when Aisling gets bored of holding them, dresses up for MSNSSHP, and stands up for women on packed Disney busses after the fireworks.

When last I left my faithful readers in July we had decided that after 2 short trips, we were ready for a LOOOOONG one. So 10 days it is!

We will be heading down to WDW from August 19th-28th.

What HADN'T been decided was where we were staying. We've only stayed at 2 on property resorts

Now one of those was an option but the other...not so much. You see, Randy is a Deluxe Snob. And one of his complaints about Disney is that he will never go again if I force him to stay Value.

I did a facebook poll for people's thoughts about this trip. The Poly actually won and was definitely on list...WL came in 2nd and won points for being so close to MK. But after a lot of discussion, we decided that one resort kept calling to us. SO, after much debate, we are staying at:

The Beach Club!!!!!


This is super exciting to me! I have visions of myself relaxing by Stormalong Bay. Now with a husband who can't sit still and a 7 year old, this may never happen but a woman can dream can't she???

Hi Kristine! Saw your post on FB...had to check out your PTR! That's so great you're staying at the Beach Club!! We stayed at the Swan once and the whole resort area is awesome!! We're planning on going in November...looking forward to hear how you like it at the Beach Club!

I have to tell you...I"m a little torn about not staying at AKL/V this year. I love it there. Love the animals, love the dark theme, and esp love the music in the lobby.

Don't dread Value. My husband is the snob...not me. I'm in the "how often are you in the room- esp in WDW" club. Kids love value. Just be mentally prepared for the smaller room size and a little bit extra noise (although some people on here make is sound terrible...in all our trips to POP, it's never really bothered me)

For folks who don't know- Stacy and I "met" on the DIS and have never been to visit each other in our home states but have taken 3 trips together (2 to WDW and 1 to NYC!). Stacy also is EXTREMELY generous to Aisling and has made her some amazing things, including the dress featured in our intro pics.

My mother will never go to value again after we stayed at the mods so often, but Dallas just loves values and until he changes I'll save the $. Or I get rich and then might stay deluxe a few nights.

Just to clarify...we should NOT be staying at BC because we are by no means rich. We stupidly let Uncle Sam have an interest free loan every year that covers the cost of our trips

I think that Beach Club is a great choice!!! Love the resort, and Stormalong Bay and how close it is to Epcot. Kirsten and Peyton loved the pool when we stayed there in 2009!

Stormalong Bay was really the part that kept drawing us back to BC. I think if I have any chance at all at relaxing on this trip....I need a really cool pool to distract Randy and Aisling (although she did really love the pool at Kidani!) So you added the extra points When are you heading there?

BTW, I don't believe for a second that 34 is a distant memory to you
