The Sky is: "(fill in the blank)"

I'm with Snap. It's not even cold anymore, it's frigid on a daily basis. Lows in the teens and 20's at night with windchills in the single digits. And this morning we got an automated call at 6:15 that there is no school due to a water main break. So there I was, at 6:30, racing for the local supermarket to get water. 9 cases of water and 3 gallons later, and the water comes back on within 1/2 hour of my getting home.

The good thing is, of course, water again, but I also took a day off today. So I now have had a 4 day weekend. :thumbsup2

Our schools are on fog schedule here; pretty typical for our winters.

Clear, blue skies here. Pretty cold, too, only 36 degrees. We'll have a taste of your frigid weather later this week. Thurs has a low of 20, Friday a low of 22.

:woohoo: Woo-Hoo for 4 day weekends. I hope you enjoy it and all your water. You can pour it in a baby pool and ice skate after it freezes. :thumbsup2

Fog and broken water mains. What's next, locusts? :sad2:

No locusts here. Our first year here, though, there was a huge walking stick population. Those things are creepy! I dread having another year of those.

Enjoyed our day off. Went back to sleep for a little while, then went to the gym. Haven't been there in about 2 weeks. The holidays sort of got in the way but now, no excuses. I'd really like to be 10-15 pounds lighter by the time we go to Disney, although I fear that's not realistic for 3-1/2 months, especially since I don't mind working out but my eating habits are horrible.

Think positive, PK! You can do it. :thumbsup2

I, also, have horrible eating habits. Since Christmas, I've almost eaten 2 boxes of chocolate turtles. Those things are addicting.

OMG, it's SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Snow sounds nice to me because we rarely see it. Here we have gray skies and a 90% chance of rain. And, a homeschool field trip. Hopefully, we won't get soaked.

Don't forget to pack the Aquanet!! :lmao:

Yep, that's right. I was dumpster diving in the old threads and found this oldie but goodie. It was the second hottest July EVER in NYC this year. What a difference a few months makes huh? ;)

So how's the sky where you are today?

Wow...Seems like so long ago since we last danced in this thread!!!

Humidity's gone, sky is smurfy blue and while waiting for my train this morning, I sensed just a hint of fall in the air in the Windy City! Made me wish I could just start the weekend early!

Hi Smurf, long time no see! There were a few people who I haven't "spoken" to in a while, so I thought I'd dredge up an old thread and get reacquainted. Hope things are well with you!

Yep -- just smurfy! Still commuting an ungodly amount of time every morning, but the fact that I'm employed in a job in my career field is enough to drag me out of bed at 4:30 every morning!

How are things in your neck of the woods?

Same old, same old. DD14 is starting high school in September. Still working in NYC. September will be 22 years at my company. So thankful to be employed. :thumbsup2

PK, I'll get into this old dumptster with you as long as there are no lobsters in it. And way to go on 22 years at same company; that's quite an achievement and says a lot about the type of worker you are.

Skies are hot and polluted here, same as always. I put the top down on the old roadster in the mornings and by the time I get to work, my eyes are burning from the smog.

Good to see ya Smurf. I'm up at 5 every morning. Not for the commute but because stupid dogs think it's a good time to get up and I cannot break them of it (we know whose the boss of my house).

Speaking of dumpsters, don't know if they got all the way out to you Pakey, but NYC now has a few dumpster swimming pools for the public. :rotfl: They did it last year and brought it back again this year. And the part that really cracks me up? There's one on Park Avenue. :rotfl2:

The sky is blue
With clouds of white
Wish I could say
Not a rain cloud in sight

But then I'd be lyin'

Dumpster diving...

OK, the sky here is dark. Probably because it's night. I'd let you know if the stars are out or not, but I'd be attacked by bugs.

How about a little story about B? I took her out to the garage to say good night to daddy one night and she wanted to go out and see the stars. We walked out to look at them and I pointed to the moon. She said, "There's my moon." I told her to say, "Good night, moon." She said, "Good night, moon." Then promptly turned her head to me and glaringly informed me, "Moons don't talk." I'm pretty sure she thought I tricked her into talking to an inanimate object and was thus offended. My 3 year old is a realist.
