Helooo, all I am VERY happy that We are in single digits before our trip:yay: . the reservations are made, the plane is booked, the weather looks good:tink: .
Me and the DW (veterans of WDW many times) are taking our first trip to the "original" Disney park and We are looking forward to it very much. Just 2 days ago We were wondering about reservations for our "big" meals. DW wanted to "wing it", I said, We may not be DL vets, but We still are Disney vets and promptly called in our major ressies(experience has got to count for something, right?). We really want to see the "original" Haunted Mansion and the original, much longer "pirates", and the unique to DL attractions. Plus, I am attracted to the historical background of DL. WDW is awesome, but Walt never had an an apartment there, or bought the carpenters an early morning orange juice . Lotsa fun gunna happen!

Congratulations on the trip to the West Coast Disney, hope you enjoy your visit to our park. We have always felt that you really can’t compare the two resorts because there were so many different circumstances during their developments.

The one thing we definitely have over WDW is that Walt was involved with everything here. Like you I love the “History” of the park.

Hope you enjoy your trip and look forward to hearing about it afterwards.

Whoo Hoooooo! Wish I could just get to the double digits. LOL I’m at 122 days and counting. (OK I really hadn’t counted until your post made me curious) Have a great time and be sure to report back.

Enjoy your visit to Disneyland. I know that you've done your research and you'll have a wonderful time. Our weather looks to be very nice while you are here.

My favorite things to do (I've gone at least 1 time a year for the last 47 years):
Ride the train 1 full time around starting at Main Street Station.
Watch the Flag Retreat (check for the time at Guest Relations)
Get a water side table at Blue Bayou.

Have Fun!!!:cool1:

Keep an eye out for me!!!

We'll be getting these for dinner on Friday night, and we travel in a very loud, happy pack! There will be 5 adults and my 3 kids.

I must say I very much enjoyed your post. We sometimes feel like the red-headed stepchildren over here at the Original, and it's nice to hear somebody with positive expectations. You will have an awesome visit just because you have an awesome attitude!

May I suggest you take the Walt in Walt's Footsteps tour? If you want to historical background, insider kind of details, it would be great for you. We feel like we know quite a bit, but learned some interesting facts and details on the tour.

See you there!!!

I am so excited for you. I went to our DD's school today and signed them up for independant study for the week we are gone. Gonna do DS's school tomorrow. I can hardly wait. Enjoy your trip!

Look for me, too. i'll be the forty something husband acting like a little kid!

Thanks to everybody for their kind replies. I look forward to maybe running into some of you. Look for Me at the Haunted Mansion soaking in every detail:cloud9:

I grew up in Michigan and Grandma and Grandpa lived outside Orlando. Went to WDW 5x. Now I live in Washington. DH DD, 5 & 7 we are going for our 4th time and being the mom watching DL through the kids eyes especially as they grow up it is really special. I hope you enjoy the warm weather and sun.

We are going Sat - Tues. So excited!!!!

That is the one ride I can think of on earth that we hope to get stopped in! It happens a lot, and we love to get stuck in the ballroom scene. We got stuck in the brand new attic scene last month, and we were yelling back and forth between our 4 doom buggies "look at that!" "check this out!".

Yup---that's obsessed.

That would be cool!

I can't wait to see the exterior. From pictures I've seen it looks so much more like a "mansion" than the one at WDW, in my opinion.

Dancing along with ya! 9 days to go for me! I can't wait. I don't think the 9 days are gonna pass fast enough!

See ya there

How exciting!! I'm glad you appreciate the history - to me, that's such a huge part of why the parks are so special to me.

I don't know if you had a similar fireworks show at WDW, but the fireworks show is absolutely fabulous. Worth staking out a seat early for. (Plus, you can eat inside the perimeter of the Plaza Inn, but still outside, and have a pretty good view of the fireworks. You don't even have to come out that early for it!)

Have fun!!

Wow, I hven't thought about the history of Disneyland! But its very exciting! this will be my first time and I don't want to miss a thing and I want to know if a 3 year old will be able to take the History tour or any other information on the history tour you might have for me. I would really love to take it! But worry about her age. I'm really excitted like everyone else going in a few days! 4 more sleeps for us!!!!

I can join now! 9 days for me and then I am in my happy place, even though it's only for a day and a half! I don't care: I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!

I am in the single digit happy dance as far as leaving home. We go single digit tomorrow. Woo hoo!
