The Silhouette Ladies on Main Street

Slyvia can also eliminate double chins! I asked if I did one could she make sure I didn't have a double chin. She replied "there are no double chins at Disneyland". We love her.

Growing up my parents had ours done a couple times. I remember them being some of my most favorite art. So while we were at WDW, I had our little families done. I carefully brought it home, and purchased a frame with a large mat, glued some fabric to the mat, and hung it in my entry.
It is my most favorite souvenir!

Wow, thanks for posting pics of the silhouettes. I really want to get that done of DD8 when we go in June, I just can't decide if I want to do it with her or if I want a Mickey (or other) silhouette with her. Or both? :confused3 :)

Lol! I love that there are no double chins at Disneyland! That's awesome.

If I am not mistaken, I think the "no double chins" rule applies to the caricature artists as well (and the caricatures are another great souvenir to get done while at DLR). Whenever I have sauntered by one of the caricature artists doing a picture of a couple or person who might be a little Pooh-sized, from what I could see, it appeared that they were not portrayed as such in the drawing!! Now if only the PhotoPass people could work some magic and remove people's flaws in their photos, then we'd really be in business!!

that is beautiful framed like that!!

We did one of the kids on a trip a few years ago. I think I am going to get another done this year :goodvibes

We have 6 of them now! One of each of my girls separately, one with the two together, one with all 3 of us, one of my service dog, and one of our older dog! Sylvia did all of them, and they're all wonderful! We're going in September, and I want to do another one but we don't have any more room on the walls! :confused3

We got our three kids done on saturday by Silvia, it cost $40.18 and that was for two copies of the silhouette and the black oval frame. She was awesome, she did my sister and I about 25 years ago and then my kids too! so neat and didnt cost that much for something I will cherish forever! and it was fast! we were in and out of there in abut 5 minutes total! this is well worth it for a great souvenier!

I just had to dig up this old thread because my husband got a new tattoo based on the silhouette we had done of our kids at Disneyland. Thought you might like to see it. The ultimate souvenir, I suppose!

Great thread! I'm glad to hear they can do young children. I will definately go look for Sylvia to have one of my DD done. Can't wait!

I think you just may have given my husband an idea!! ;) Not that he needs any more ideas for tatoos but this looks amazing!:thumbsup2

When I got my DD11's first one done in 2005 I asked the artist to date it. She also signed it. I didn't really pay attention to the name. In 2007 I did it again. When I got home I noticed both were done by Sylvia. So in 2009 I made sure we got Sylvia again. It took a couple trips to me there when she was but so worth it. I have the 3 of them in one frame in chronological order. What really cool as you can see my DD getting bigger over the years. (Hair longer too!)

Now that it's 2011 it's time to get Sylvia to do DD again.

We've gotten a new one done each time we've added a new member to our family! And each time we've gotten Sylvia! One of my favorites was from 2006 because it's on gold paper for the 50th anniversary!

And to answer two questions I've seen - you can do up to 4 people. We had all 4 kids done on our last trip. And yes, they can do babies. My youngest was just about to turn 5 months. She just has them sit on your lap.

Yep, we got them done the 1st time we took our kids! They are fun, but I don't look at them and think "Oh WOW, I can totally see my kids' profiles in those!" It looks like a boy and a girl with their hair styles. I don't remember who did them. I would still do them again though, just because its so neat to have it done there! And as far as souveniers go, they're pretty cheap! Especially since you get two of each, one set goes to Grandma as a gift!
