The "Service"

Well my cousin (20) was sworn into the ARMY earlier today. Most of the males in my family have either been or are in the ARMY or Marines.

Do you have any family members who have been or are in the service?

Off the top of my head...

My dad -- Served in the Army, eventually colonel then he got injured and worked years in recruitment. He changed jobs though and is now some sort of engineer.

My cousin (23) -- Just got done serving 4 years in the Marines. He plans to re-sign up soon though.

My grandfather on dad's side spent most of his life in the Army, he died two months after getting out.

Tons of other people in my family like great uncle/uncle1/uncle2/great grandpa/ladeedaa. Lots more.

My father served in Desert Storm.

My mother was in ROTC.

Most of my friends are in ROTC, and I hang out with all the ROTC kids at school.

thats as military as I get. I'm too rebellious. I don't take orders well. I could never be in the military.

My uncle was in the navy.
my gramps was in a war
my other gramps was a veteran. he served in the korean war i believe.

Oh man, me neither. I support all those hard-working troops, but I couldn't never ever do it myself. I'm horrible at taking orders and following rules,etc.

My cousin runs 3 miles every single morning, I couldn't ever do that.

My sister's husband was in the military. I'm not sure exactly what he was. All that I know is that he was in the military.
I would hate to be in the military. I don't like when people give me orders.
EDIT: I just rememered that my Grandpa on my dad's side was in the Navy.

I was running down the hall trying to catch someone earlier today, and an ROTC kid stopped me and said "we need you on RAIDERS" (raiders is this hardcore physical training thing) my jaw dropped (i'm not at all physical. the only thing I can do is run)

I can't take orders. I usually ask "why" when I'm told to do something. I mean, I'll do it, but I want to understand why you want me to do it. That doesn't work in the military.

My dad and I have watched a lot of specials on TV and man, those people get it bad. Wooo, I could not stand someone in my face yelling at me.

Anywho. My aunt wasn't in the service, but she served the service She was a cook...But I dunno if that counts?

My grandpa served in World War 2. He was held captive in Germany for 8 monthes.

Umm I think my other grandpa also served.

My best friend is in ROTC at our school.

My Grandpa was US Coast Guard in WWII.
Another Grandpa was stationed in Germany during 'Nam.
My step dad was an MP.

I've also given the thought of joining the Air Force a go, but meh. I only have one base where I'd like to be stationed at, and nothing I'd like to do does anything there. =\

My two cousins John and Chris were in the Army Reserves. John was in Afghanistan for a while. He's home now, safe and sound.


I couldn't ever be in the service... but I commend those who could.

My uncle does like Army training but I don't think he'll ever be deployed because he has previous knee injuries that happen often.
