We gave the kids our August 2007 WDW trip for Christmas. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed in their reaction, or lack thereof. I thought they'd be jumping up and down excited, but they pretty much took it in stride. Hmm, I wonder if they're spoiled.

I, however, am thrilled. I can finally talk about it, I can read my Passporter, and I don't have to hide what I'm doing online .

Don't be too disapointed, they just have a hard time waiting that long for a Christmas gift.

omgosh The same thing happend here my 2 boys were like wow Disney I new somthing was up. I was soo expecting them to scream jump up and down HUG me ! But now that weve watched pices of the planning video and the parade they seeem more excited. I think with christmas it was tooo much of a good thing - cuz on its own I do believe it would have been jumping up and down excitment.

Have a great trip we go in May well be counting the days!

I know it stinks. I gave DD a Disney cruise for her elementary school grad last year (ok, it was for me too ) We would leave in 7 days. Her response....can I trade it in for a cell phone. I could have cried. Now 6 months later when I tell the story to people she sticks with the denial route. I am sure they will be excited soon

When I put my ds 12 to bed last night he said Mom I CANT WAIT TO GO back so I think like you said they take things in stride-It just us crazy DISers that cant stop obsessing Heck I think I jumped up and down when I seen the Disney Crocs.

LOL! I got the same reaction! I had all 3 kids open a box with Pal Mickey in it and I told them where they were going, the boys just walked off to go to their other toys! My dd already knew (she overhead) and she is excited, but the boys just didn't get it! After everyone else left, I sat them down and explained it and they got a little excited, but they really have no idea what to expect. I was shocked that they weren't even excited about the plane! But, we showed them how Pal Mickey works and Eric and dd started fighting about who gets to carry him.

We are leaving Aril 29, and we're surprising them. I was thinking about doing it on Easter w/ Disney easter baskets, but I already thought of that, with all of their other goodies, they might not be thrilled right away, so i'll either do it before or after.

Mine didn't get excited for their first trip(5 & 10) over Thanksgiving. No reaction over buying DVC points, no reaction to a long weekend at WDW in May and ran off with their nerf dart guns when told they were going back for Thanksgiving 2007.

They didn't get excited until a week before hand and I expect they will be the same for the next trip. I think it must be a boy thing.

2 years ago I began planing our first ever trip to anywhere disney! I was so excited dh & I had never been and our kids had asked countless times if we would take them to disneyland. My friend convinced me it would be worth the $, I couldn't believe how much it was, but I bit the bullet and started planning. We decided to keep it a secret. AFter 6 months of planning and excitment we told our kids...............let's say their reaction wasn't what I was hoping for. It was oh fun, can we still go to the beach? I was devestated. But once we got there they were in heaven. Now a year and a half later they love to look at the scrapbooks and ask when we can go back. Now I'm planning a trip to the world in May. Dh thinks we should tell them on the way to the airport, but I think I'll tell them a week earlier so they can give me the response I want. Maybe I'll start by saying "We're going on vacation and if you don't jump, cry, and scream for joy when I tell you where, you aren't going!"
