This is still open right?? I see that the projected open date is Dec, but it's open while they add the clam mobiles right?

The whole Living Seas was closed last Oct, and I'll be really sad if it is this year as well.

Yes, its been "half-open" since last Christmas or so.

"Turtle Talk" remains VERY popular.

I think they're adding a ride like it used to have before. I believe they're calling them Clam mobiles?

There's a brand new (being completed as we speak) RIDE in the Seas Pavilion.

Its a ride-system (called "Clam-mobiles") similar to the Doombuggies at MK (Omnimovers) that will take you riding past some of the live aquarium windows so that you can see the "real" fish along with the animated Nemo charaters. The tracks for the attraction are expanded from the former "SeaCabs" that operated in the Living Seas from its beginning up until several years ago when they stopped using them.

Are theses the official grand opening dates, meaning that there will be a soft open, or previews for these attractions? I hope so, as we are there Dec. 2 - 11 and were hoping to get to see both of these.

There COULD be a soft-opening...
but there simply is no way to tell...
even DISNEY doesn't know if the attraction will be fully ready early and operate as it should before the "official" date.

No RULES for "soft-openings."

I am so bummed. I almost cancelled the trip last Oct when I found out the Living Seas was going to be closed during that time, so no Turtle Talk or manatees for us. We ate at the Coral Reef so we could at least see the aquarium. I made reservations last January for this December for Dec. 2-10. We leave on Dec 10...the projected date that Nemo and Friends clams mobile ride opens. I missed it yet again. I can't stay an extra day because we have already paid for the non-refundable plane tickets. I just can't seem to win :( Have to vent here because no one else here cares, as long as 1. they can eat at their chosen restaurants, and 2. they get to ride Expedition Everest.

I am REALLY hoping for a soft opening of Nemo!

If I find out the Nemo musical won't be open yet at AK I will probably cry, which will amuse the rest of them here. I am 52, and the biggest kid in the house!

It should be open in December. There will be a passholder preview, it was mentioned in the last passholder newsletter but they didn't give the dates yet.

People have seen the clamobiles moving on the track on occasion though the windows in the aquarium. This of course should not be interpretted as "almost ready to open", just some proof positive of "progress is definitely being made".

We are not passholders though, so will the general public be able to experience the attractions before the grand opening?

There are no rules to "soft openings".

Nobody can say when they will start, or IF there will be any at all.

They might start as soon as the ride is finished (no one knows how far along they are with it), BUT, there may be NO soft opening at any time.

Remember that Test Track opened about TWO YEARS BEHIND SCHEDULE.

So you see, with ride technology, nobody can predict these things.

If you watch this board, there will be an annoucement as soon as anyone knows anything.

I'm jumping in here too. I'll be there until 12/11 (last park day is 12/10 though) and hope that we will get to see it.

Hi! We'll be there 12/2-12/9 CR Tower, MK view with about 50 of our friends and family (not all staying at the CR) - maybe we'll see you there!

:wave2:

Can't wait!
