My DW and I are considering spending 3-4 nights at the Sagamore next August to celebrate our 10th anniversary (probably cash - not points).

Has anyone been to the Sagamore? Any thoughts?

Most importantly, can anyone extole the benefits between staying in the "Historic Hotel" or in a "Lodge Suite"?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

We stayed in the lodge suite last summer. The view was great. The suite was very nice, plenty of room, small kitchen, large sofa in the living room, nice porch, and the service was the best.
I would use cash. You really get murdered with points. I think I used about 165 or was it 156 for 3 nights. The meals are great. They don't allow children under 12 in some areas which makes for some quite dinning. There is an indoor pool or if you wish you can swim in the lake. There is nightly entertainment. You can rent some fast boats. In is really a laid back area, very nice. Now I can not tell you how it is to stay in the main hotel. I can telly you it was very quite in the suites. Everything is pretty much together. It is only a short walk to the hotel from the suites. Really nice place for adults.
