Monday 17th July

I’ve changed the title as I think we probably spent more time in craft shops than we did in the resort this trip.


I was up early for some unknown reason and as we had planned to do Typhoon Lagoon today there was no need to drag the others out of bed so I took the opportunity to try experimenting with the new camera and went for an early morning walk around the resort.

Our unit was on the top floor left hand side ( higher cellings and alot lighter)

I went back to the condo and made breakfast which we enjoyed on the balcony and then we made our way to Typhoon Lagoon. I can see why a lot of people choose to stay on site, having always been on the 192 or I drive in the past, it was a nice change being so close to the parks.

We did Crush ‘n’ Gusher and then a few of the raft rides before I went to get the camera out of the lockers and took some more photos of the family on the lazy river and in the wave pool.
It works well with me being into photography and Theresa into scrapbooking.

We went to Typhoon Tilley’s for lunch and the ribs were delllllllicioussssssss!
We shared a Funnel cake afterwards which always goes down well.

We had decided to leave the park at 2 p.m. as we had had enough but a storm was coming in and they were about to close the park anyway so we managed to get out just before the big rush. Callum wanted to go to Value Pawn to look for guitars, camera lens and other stuff as it had been closed the day before and he was feeling a bit left out with all the other shopping going on.

We managed to get him a nice lens for his Canon EOS 300v which hopefully he will get plenty of use out of when he starts his photography course at Technical College in September and a pedal for his guitars.

I found a camera shop and got a couple of filters for my lens as the last thing I wanted was to risk damaging one of the new lenses.

We went to our favourite Wal-Mart on the 192 near Medieval Times and managed to spend another $320 mainly on guitar strings which are less than half the price compared to England and I bet you can’t guess what else the girls bought, go on guess-----------------How did you guess???????? lots of scrapbooking bits and bobs.(pictures of their stash nearer the end of the holiday

We had dinner at the IHOP which was really nice.
Theresa had Pot roast and Philly steak sandwich for me. Callum only had a milk shake and a Pizza when we got back to the resort.

Don’t ask me how but Theresa and I managed to share a really scrummy dessert which consisted of banana cheesecake wrapped in a kind of crispy coating and fried, with caramel sauce, cream & chocolate ice cream A YUMTASTIC ( in the words of Miffy) pud.

We popped to Downtown Disney later on which was very busy and brought the usual picture frame for our traditional group photo by the Mickey flower bed in Magic Kingdom. (After this trip we will only have one space left on the wall so I hope that’s not an Omen). Callum and I did a bit of photography while the ladies browsed and then we headed ‘home’ ready for an early start tomorrow.

Jodie If you can find a local Scrapbooking shop you will be able to join a crop and they will give lots of help. It can be as easy or hard as you want to make it.
try using just a few embellishments on the page.
You can PM DW Latta Lover or I know Queenie is also into it she would also be able to help you

Wow Tony great pics! Was it the Nikon D50 you got?

Yep complete with 18-55 and 70-300 nikon lenses and nikon bag for $625 plus $22 p+p I know I still have alot to learn about the camera and photography in general but I will get there.

Tony, great price - I paid £424 for the body, 18 - 55mm lens and bag then a further £115 for the sigma 70 - 300mm lens! I have just been using auto modes but pleased with the results! Kelly Grannell has posted some tutorials on the photoboards and they are excellent! My DS pulled my camera off the kitchen table this evening onto the tiled floor but it seems to be working - so far!

fingers crossed for your camera. I have been reading Kelly's tutorials and they are useful I have taken some nice manual shoots which I will post nearer the end of the holiday when I had had chance to get a little more used to the camera

Nice report again. We did Typhoon Lagoon late afternoon on a few occasions for a cool down. That wave sure is big, it just makes me run in the other direction much to the kids amusement.

Thanks for the piccie of Stitch (how on earth did you know that I like him - LOL). Another great day, we like the big Wal-Mart on the 192 too, but tend to visit the one closer to WDW more. Loving the photos
