Shoe question - has anyone used a shoe for 100 miles with no issues, and then all of a sudden started getting blisters from it? I really liked the Nike Pegasus Plus (still do), but in the last 2 or 3 runs, I've been getting a blister on the same spot. I haven't changed socks or anything else. Any idea what's causing it or what I can do to stop it?

Have you increased your mileage? Also where is the blister? Depending on where its at you can change how your shoes are laced to help.

Blisters are caused by friction, which means the shoe is rubbing an area of your foot. There are two main causes: (1) poor fit, or (2) moisture. My guess is that now we are in warmer weather, you’re sweating more, causing your foot to slip (perhaps imperceptibly). If you’ve been running in thinner socks, I would try a sock that’s more absorbent, like a smart wool sock and see if that helps.

Going to agree with @Zutroy and @Fe Kitty
Has to be friction to get blister, even if unnoticeable there is some rubbing. Different socks would be my first choice, then try lacing. If it’s on your heel, lock it down tighter, on your little toe, loosen up for room in the toe box.
Or it is possible - I’m not familiar with that shoe - that they just aren’t lasting for you. The latest of version of what was my go to long run shoe was once again fantastic for about 90 miles and almost overnight broke down and felt like it went flat. I can only use it for short treadmill runs now. Total company/manufacturer fail I believe, and I probably won’t go with the next version.

Milage hasn't changed drastically, and it's happened both during a 3 mile run and a half. Blister is in the red circled area:

Would the fit change after over 100 miles though? Like I said, I've used the same sock with these shoes with no issues until now. My runs have also all been inside on the tread, so the warmer weather wouldn't make a difference.
I'll try my winter smart wool socks though to see if that makes a difference.

The shoe still feels good, but I wonder if maybe the fabric parts have stretched with time, which is now causing this? It's annoying, because I've thankfully haven't had to deal with blisters before this.

It could also be just one blister that doesn't heal completely between runs and so reemerges each time. I sometimes find that a blister sort of flares up several times before finally going away.

However, that's at least a good place to slap some duct tape on it to prevent further aggravation.

Asking my fellow rD-ers here in the northern part of Georgia and bordering states, how many of you felt the earthquake a few minutes after nine this morning (Saturday, May 10)?

I was in midtown at piedmont park doing a 5k race, to make up for missing the 10k last weekend. I did not feel it. It did rain the entire race. I was checking my fitness and pleased with my result. I also got first in my age group.

Kudos! And apparently the epicenter was up in East Tennessee, due south of Knoxville, so felt in Hartwell, as well.
