When you visit the Rose and Crown Pub from Great Britain, what do you order for dinner and how close to authentic is it? It has become my favorite restaurant at WDW. Thanks! :)

We went to the Rose and Crown in November. I had Vegetable Curry which was nothing like it would be over here and Dh had Sausage and Mash he enjoyed it...but it wouldn't be like what he would get in a pub over here :)

What is your favourite dish ??

We were there nearly two weeks ago, and, apart from the fish and chips, I don't think the food is that authentic in terms of the combinations e.g. my DS had the Prime Rib steak which was served with Yorkshire pudding and a jacket potato but we would normally have Yorkshire pudding with roast beef, roast potatoes and a veg.
DH had the 'surf and turf' and found it different to the British version - he found the steak not as tasty but more tender.
I had the roast chicken - that was okay too but nothing more than that.
We found the servers and everyone there extremely helpful, friendly and anxious to please.

Thanks for answering. Kaylee UK, I enjoy the pie sampler. I can never finish it, but along with a Bass Ale, it's my favorite. Thanks again. :)

I went here for the first time in December and I really enjoyed myself. I agree with Shirley that the food was not as authentic as it could have been it was certainly very nice. I had the fish and chips and wasn't that keen on the fish, not a lot of flavour. The server we had brought me up a token yorkshire pudding and gravy which was really nice of her. I tasted the pie sampler and thought the pork pie was more like our sausage rolls but in pie format. I loved the chicken and leek one and the shepherds or cottage pie was nice too but a bit loaded with pepper.

I was with 3 Americans and 1 Brazilian and they all enjoyed the meal and we had a fabulous view of the fireworks from the patio area. One of my friends ordered a snake-bite I told them that a lot of pubs in the UK don't serve them anymore as they make you a bit loopy ;)

It was a fabulous night and I would go again.

Hi,
We had a meal at the Rose and Crown NYE.I had prime rib and the better half had Salmon, the food was great but the organisation was apalling. We had a PS for 6:30 pm the idea being that we could celebrate the New Year at 7pm (midinite UK time) and watch the fireworks at 7:30.I checked with one of the CM's in the afternoon that they had my PS and she confirmed it,she suggested we return about 6:15 for our table.
When we checked in at 6:15 we were told they were running late and our table wouldn't be ready until about 6:50, annoying but we gave them a break as it was very busy. By 6:55 we had no response from our pager so I went back to the desk only to be told they had no idea when our table would be ready. We finally got seated at 7:30 just as the fireworks were starting.I had to ask 3 times for silverware and we waited 30mins for our food.
Not what I expect from a Disney restaurant however busy they are and they really didn't seem to have clue what they were doing.

Mick.

I noticed something missing from the menu there--curry!

The best thing about the Rose & Crown is the terrace.

I wouldn't know if the food is authentic, but it is very good! Last time we went, we had to have the menu translated for us. We didn't know what "bubble and squeek" were. Our server was great! She explained it to us and she was so sweet. We had a great time!
