Well, we all knew that Disney was not the best at keeping their CM's informed about what's going on... (Peacocks and otters are much more reliable - and - the Settlement Orange Daytime Bus Driver)

Just for the fun of it I called the Front Desk twice today to find out if FtW allowed pets at the campsites. I received the following answers:

1st from John: "Ft. Wilderness Front Desk. This is John. Can I help you?"

Deb: "Can you tell me if pets are allowed at Ft. Wilderness?"
John: "Yes, they are."
Deb: " Do they have to be confined to certain areas?
John: "I'm not sure, can you hold while I ask?" :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 John returns: "Thanks for waiting. I'm told that there are no prefered pet sites."

Deb: "Do you mean that you don't allow pets on prefered sites?"
John: "Oh, yes - we allow pets on prefered sites. There just are no special sites for pets."
Deb: "So if I bring my pet, any site is okay. Is that correct?"
John: "Yes ma'am. We just don't allow pets in the FtW cabins."
Deb: "Well, thank you very much for your help."
John: "You're welcome. Is there anything else I can help you with?"
Deb: "Nope! You've answered my question. Thanks again. Bye now."
John: "Have a magical day! Good-bye."

2nd, about two hours later from Kelli:

Kelli: "Ft.W Front Desk. Kelli speaking.:
Deb: "Hi, Kelli! I have a question I hope you can answer for me."
Kelli: "I'll be glad to try. What is it?"
Deb: "Are pets permitted on any site at FtW now?"
Kelli: "No. Pets are only permitted at sites reserved for pets."
Deb: "How many spaces do you have available for people with pets?"
Kelli: "We don't have a specific amount of sites reserved just for pets."
Deb: "Okay - so if you are really booked, I could end up anywhere if I brought my pets. Is that right?"
Kelli: "Yes. During exceptionally busy periods, we try to group guests with pets to certain loops, but we sometimes end up placing guests in non-pet loops."
Deb: "One more question & I'll leave you alone. If I made a reservation and requested the 100 or 200 loop, and said I was bringing my dog, would I get a site in the 100 or 200 loops?"
Kelli: "Most likely. We try to accomodate our guests requests as much as possible."
Deb: "Well, thank you Kelli. You've been most helpful."
Kelli: "You're welcome. Anything else?"
Deb: No - thank you very much.
Kelli: "Have a great day."

There you have it folks!!! It's as clear as mud to me!!

I like it!!! If I don't get the answer I want the first time, just keep asking!!!

This happened to me today! I was trying to add one night on to our reservation and called about 4 times already today. In the afternoon when I called, she said there were no availablilities but i could go into a cabin and put my dog into the kennels. Then she said "hold on one moment, I think we are now allowing guests to take animals into cabins that are on the pet loops!!!" I started to laugh as she put me on hold, i knew there was no way that this was true, but let her check anyway. She came back a few minutes later and said she was sorry, she was misinformed, but pets could stay in motorhomes in pet loops. Maybe she was new???:confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh these are priceless! LOL! I can't wait to hear what they are gonna say to me when I stay there next month. Wonder how many answers I'll get and if they will even mention the new doggie area when we check-in with our two BTs?
I requested the 800 loop, though I don't know if it's where I'll want to stay from now on. I use to love the FA 1900 loop (yeah I know I am weird), but I liked that it was away in the back and away from everything and it use to be really tree'd and bushy, So, pretty quite and private. But, now that I am moving up to a preferred location I have to figure out what will suit me again. Geeze it would be alot easier for me if it was all pet friendly. <BG>

:lmao: That is just funny!!

We have an issue where we moved 3 years ago. 3 years! We have been to WDW 3 times since we moved and every time I call and they ask me to confirm our phone number, and I give it to them, they tell me I am wrong, so I have to search the recesses of my brain, and pull up the old number. We then go through the processes of "changing" the number. They assure me it is all changed and we won't have the same problem again. I could call the next day and guess what.....they still have the old number and the new number has disappeared. So we go through the whole process again. :confused3

Yeah...the first number they get when you register with disney.com is the number youre stuck with eternally apperently. They've changed my number from 5 yrs ago at least 15 times and I still have to go through the "I'll change it for you and I promise you it will be correct this time" shpeel. It s NEVER correct...evn when you re-calling about the same reservation, like on the very next day- as you said. Its funny sometimes, but it can be very time consuming to go through the whole process everytime you call. They seem to have a problem saving email addresses as well. At least the food is cheap at disney...oh, wait, thats not disney!!!

I would need a couple of drinks after that call.

This happened to us but it was about Golf Cart Insurance...I called three times about it and got three different answers, I was trying to find out if you had to have insurance on your personal golf cart and if so how much...I know at the beach you have to show proof of 50,000 or you can't bring your own in.

The first call said "I needed to have insurance but not a certain amount".

The second call said "we didn't need any insurance at all ".

The third call said " we needed insurance and at least 50,000 worth ".

So before we left for the FT I added insurance onto the cart for the tune of 120.00

Whenever we got to the fort the checkin agent was handed our proof of insurance and she said "what's this" we said "proof of insurance" she said " oh you don't need that here". :rolleyes1

So bottom line always go with the second call :rotfl:

Dang was I off track when I read the title of this thread. I was all ready to tell Rog to swap hands if one was getting tired.
