....... Is there an attraction/parade or ride that has been discontinued which you wish was still open, or is there an attraction you know of that closed before you had a chance to experience it?

I live in hope that I wil be able to go on the Carousel Of Progress again...... I think that's the only one I feel sad about should it finally be closed for good, but I also miss the original 'Journey Into Imagination' ride ......Dreamflight was quite pleasant!

Any Horizon or Toad fans out there? Or maybe you miss the Skyway?

Morning Shirley

I really am saddened too about C.O.P - I hope that I might get the chance to enjoy it once again, it is such a classic.

I wish I had got the chance to see the Michael Jackson ride? A friend raved about it at the time, but by the time we went on our first visit it had closed ~ ~ ~ ~

I remember Horizons from a visit when I was in High School, maybe 1984? and I was really looking forward to riding it again - I was quite disappointed when I found out it was closed.

There was a scene in there where you came around a corner and were suddenly sailing across the sky that was just stunning.

PS - We did COP 3 times in June - Katie was very taken with it!

Oh yes Bev! That was my fave part of Horizons too and the music for that section was wonderful too - at least I have that on CD !

Yes, I miss skyway.:)

We managed to ride it back in 1998 for the first and last time we had a great ride, wish it was still there.
Well, at least I have the video to remind me.

We did enjoy Mr Toad's Wild Ride (I believe this ride gained quite a cult status!).

I also miss the skyway - it was a nice gentle way to get to and from Tomorrowland.

Must admit though I wasn't too fussed about COP closing :)

Mine would have to be the submarine trip around the grotto where Ariel is now - I think it was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or whatever. It was fantastic - still got the photos from my trip in 1982.

Secondly would have to be the original Journey Into Imagination with Figment - don't think they'll ever be able to recreate that again, sadly:( I remember going around a corner and there was a HUGE big photo of you in your car, and if I remember correctly it was SO funny because they'd taken a piccie when everyone was oohing over something:D Ah, happy memories:p

Tim - I remember Toad's ride, again in 1982. There were a bunch of kiddies behind us who were absolutely hysterical with fear:eek:

"It's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow . . . .", just thought I'd start a sing-song for COP, what a shame:(

Oh there is so much that has gone - but not forgotten: -

20,000 leagues under the sea

Mr Toad

Skyway

Captain EO

Mission to Mars

If you could fly

sob, sob, sob

I also miss Boardwalk and Baseball and Xanadu, House of the future.

Now....if it was Country Bear jamboree I'd be doing a merry jig! - LOL

I loved Horizons, World of Motion (the GM ride where Test Track is now), and the original 'ending' to Spaceship Earth with James Earl Jones.

I didn't think 20,000 Leagues was that great, but we still laugh now at the CM who said at the end of the ride, Take small children firmly by the hair ...

I was desperately disappointed when they announced the end of CoP - I think this is possibly my favourite attraction - but I thought it had had a reprieve. Is it closed again?

Janice - I was totally underwhelmed by Captain EO.

LOl - I have heard that before too Deb about Captain EO - but you know how it is. Michael Jackson was huge at the time, this friend had their own villa in Orlando and was back and forth all the time, they used to just rave about everything, probably knowing that we couldnt go?

I am desperately trying to remember Horizons. I am sure we did that on our very first trip in 95 - would it have been the old one then?

Thanks Bev - we did see and experience Horizons - I've just read all through and was taken back! It was a good attraction wasnt it?

Thanks for the link.
