Day 9
We were to do a shopping day today, but the weather forecast has changed our plans (they are calling for rain all day tomorrow and the next).
After breakfast we head of to the library at the west end of 192 to check our emails to home.
We popped into the Publix next door and find a large assortment of British goods (to cater to the large contingent staying in this area).
We then go to see the Summer Bay Resort on 192 (we are thinking of maybe staying there next year). It looks very nice and we picked up a brochure.
Finally, we are on our way to World Showcase at Epcot. On the way through DD insists that we stop at Figment "Imaaaaaagination".
We have lunch in France (the deserts are too good to pass up).
We then go to the UK where DW picks up a 6 t-bags for $1.99 (because she ran out....and must have Tea every day).
The Scottish CM in the UK shop told DD that she loved her T-Shirt (A Collage of Mickey Mouse).
The Norway ride was broken down so we moved on to the Mexico boat ride which is quite pleasant.
One frozen Kiwi drink later, and we are on our way to the toasty car in the parking lot.
For the next 2 hours we have very heavy rain and thunder and lightning.
By 5pm we go for a swim and then an hour later we head off to the Longhorn Steakhouse. the food was excellent, service OK but did'nt like the request for a tip included with the bill (we think its a bit like a "begging letter").
Soup, salad, steak and potatoes with a Pina Colada and a CC and Coke comes to $66 +tip.

We then leave to go see the Fireworks at MK. Upon arriving at MK we realize that its the EMH night and the crowds were horrendous (we weren't supposed to be here ,but the weather forecast changed our plans).
Theis is a handy website to see the days to go and the days to avoid when going to the parks.

We didn't even attempt to go on any rides because the lineups were just too much. We ended up in the Country Bear Jamboree and then fled the park using the resort monorail to The Polynesian (the Monorail has us feeling like Sardines....8-20pm).We arrive at the Polynesian and pick up drinks in the lobby and head to the Polynesian beach where we find 4 available lounge chairs next to a hammock. We sit ourselves down and wait for the fireworks to start...8-40pm. The beach is deserted and very peaceful. At 8.55pm a few folk arrive at the beach looking for chairs (still only a dozen folk there).
The show was fantastic and from our vantage point you can see everything perfectly. We also watch the electrical water pageant right after the fireworks finish. We then take the short walk to the TTC to get the tram to the car and we just miss the huge crowd rush to leave the park (not the EMH people of course).

GO TO DAY 10

A pretty good day even with the rain making change in plans. I have watched the fireworks from the Poly beach and it is nice not having to "fight the crowds" for a change of pace
