The Reluctant Hubby and The Mouse - a Pre Trip Report

Ut oh, so here we go again with another pre trip report. This one involves me, of course,

and a somewhat reluctant husband.

I am a Disneyaddict, and he is just along for the golf, a little Nascar, and the food. This will be my 5th trip to WDW. Reluctant Hubby aka Grumpy Tough Guy will be taking me for his second trip.

Yeah I know I am just back from my last trip and not even started with my post trip report yet... in my defense, there are pictures to download and sort through, and a storyboard to lay out first, and other details, (like planning a return trip!) that beckon first.

Trip date is tentatively set for the last week of Jan 2013 or early Feb. We will be celebrating our upcoming anniversary in Feb. and how better with my favorite hero in my favorite place?

Plans so far include a check in to Animal Kingdom Lodge for 2 nights, then transfer to Port Orleans Riverside for 6 night stay.

Also planning a return visit to the Garden View tea Room at the Grand Floridian.

So I hope to be returning in 11 months and 3 weeks for another grand adventure at Disneyworld!

Well, the day we have been not so ready for has arrived. The youngest finishes his last class in college tomorrow, and seeing as he will be working and living on his own, we no longer need this huge house. Our lease is up the end of the month so we are definitely downsizing and not signing another year's lease. Meaning we have to move, and we've been in this house for years.

I hate moving.

Once I figured out we couldn't survive on love and minimum wage from a career at Disney as a greeter, we decided we needed to be closer to family. Meaning we have to move out of state. I love Texas and I will miss it a lot but spending time with Mom on my vacation really made me realize a lot of things and it's all good.

So... we are going to find a small inexpensive place for a short term lease while we find new jobs so we can relocate. I will definitely miss the weather here, as it is truly paradise most of the time. We have 2 seasons here, hot and not hot.

I'm still planning on my Disney vacation Jan 2013 and with a expected move date of Aug 1st so that shouldn't interfere unless DH can't get the time off from his new job.

I'm really excited for DH though, because he is a songwriter/musician and he can do something with his music when we get back. When he is with his brothers it is like magic, and even though they never get to rehearse or practice together, they can sit down and jam and songs just happen and without a word they all just know where the other is going and it gels. But now with this move, they will all be able to be together and start performing, which would make my DH very happy. These are pics from a couple of years ago at the July 4th family reunion.

Oh, I love my husband. He just mentioned how fun it would be to go to Daytona week WHILE we were at Disneyworld. And he really doesn't like WDW. So now that means I can really start planning a trip.

Of course, this means plan modifications as we still have a set budget. For now the plan is looking like fly in to Orlando, have son and daughter in law pick us up at the airport and stay in Daytona for 2 nights with them, then the morning after the race they can drive us over to our Disney resort and check in and we will start our Disney portion of the trip. Of course, I could put Daytona at the last of the trip, it is going to depend on crowd levels and prices and other factors.

Hubby will not be doing the Richard Petty driving experience this time as the Daytona 500 will be scheduled instead.

Animal Kingdom Lodge will likely not in the budget now.

So here's hoping for free dining and Port Orleans Riverside!

Yay for Disney vacation planning! It is a great stress reliever and an escape from the everyday.

We're in the middle of saving for a move back home and buying our own home so it's going to be hard to convince DH we need a Disney vacation, much less both of us get time off to do so...but I dream big so I am still planning hopefully and saving vigilantly for our next dream trip. Hoping for late Jan 2013 or early Feb. So far my trip is pricing out at $4500 of which I have $540 left from last trip in my change purse, $20 in my makeup drawer, and $1500 set aside in my savings. I'm almost halfway!!! Only $2440 to go.

Well, this trip is going be a bit different than originally planned. I am still going, but it was His idea that I go without him this time. Since no one else wanted to accompany me, ie: they went with me already on a priour trip, or in the words of me best friend, "Oh I don't want to stay THAT long...". What? 11 nights is too much Disney?!!! So, I am going to start a new pre-trip report called Me and the Mouse, alone together at last. A Dream Come True. Well, maybe not something so dramatic, but yeah I am going back to WDW and first solo trip ever! Stay tuned DisFriends...

Okay friends, back to the trip that almost wasn't... Prince Charming slayed all dragons and saved the kingdom, but then there was no work for a while. Now The Prince (Aka Reluctant Hubby) is back slaying dragons and handling world issues and sending Cinderella (Me!)

to WDW on my first solo trip ever! In just a few short weeks I will be boarding that big silver bird and jetsetting it to sunny Florida for my Disney fix. I am starting to get very excited! I'll post more once I figure out how to attach pictures that aren't online. That detail is stumping me for now... more to come.
