The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

My fear is always a student coming up to my desk and asking, "Who's Charleston Princess?" Plus, this year Chelsea will be one of my students, and she is only too well aware of the DIS. I will have no secrets anymore.

bummer. I was looking forward to those classroom posts......

Can't wait for the clandestine postings from all those teachers this year....:thumbsup2

Oh, yeah! I have the Dis minimized all day on my school computer. I peek in at lunch and on my planning hour, if I don't have some kind of meeting. When you are trapped in a room with twenty something 8 and 9 year olds all day, you must have your Disney fix often!

I do have my Disney pens ready thanks to your great suggestions on your TR! I am also wearing my animal print Mickey head t-shirt -- and my Mickey head bracelet -- and bringing my pins for my bulletin board -- and my pictures for my desk. There will be a little bit of Disney magic to help me get through the day! :goodvibes

Good girl! I think you're about as well-prepared as you can be.

You need the Dis the most during 8:00 teacher meetings. I miss many things about teaching, but meetings is not one of them.

Best wishes for a great year to all the teachers that are about to start pre-planning.

I'm waiting til I'm done with my TR...I think. I want to be almost done with my TR so maybe when I hit Day 14 of the TR I can start the PTR.

I've lost track -- what day are we on in your TR?

Sooze used to do this all the time too!:rotfl2:

Good to know that I am not the only one! :thumbsup2

They'll start for me next Thursday -- something to look forward to!

That's what I do -- I have to keep track of what's happening on the DIS! When you are trapped with 11-14 year olds (depending on what grade I have at the time), you need Disney fixes, also!

I guess so -- I just can't believe that I am headed back!

I certainly never miss the meetings during the summer, that's for sure!

Thank you for the wishes!!! I am looking forward to getting my room in order. I guess that's the OCD in me. ;)

Just sending you a moment of tranquility in a nice place before you start this important day. Have a good one!

Thank God you can post from class - I hadn't thought about it yet but I'd have terrible Jackie withdrawls otherwise!

Ah, my dearest friend Jackie, I sit here this morning having breakfast with my daughter who is dressed up completely like Minnie Mouse, knowing full well that you are sadly stuck in the midst of one of our "beloved" summer faculty meetings. I am grieving your absence, and hoping that you are having plenty of Disney-filled thoughts as the administrators and speakers are droning on and on and on and on.........Enjoy that Chick-fil-a biscuit!!! Thinking of you---and wishing you were here on the DIS!!!! Jen

I can't believe summer is almost over. :sad2:

I can't believe your TR is almost over. :guilty:

I can't believe mine is just 10 weeks out!

Oh, how sweet of you!!! I love this view of the castle! How I wish I was there right now! But sitting here gazing at it is definitely the next best thing!

Loving it so far!
Have to goto work!!

Welcome and thank you!!!

It won't be near as often as I would like though. :(

Thanks, Jen! I do confess to daydreaming about Disney while I was supposed to be listening to the annual reading of the code of ethics (which I think I know by heart at this point). :goodvibes

Now it's the weekend and I get a couple of days reprieve before more meetings! I like the actual teaching so much more!!!

Hope your first day of school was a good one.

Well, aside from the three and a half hour long faculty meeting, it was lovely -- especially once my computer was hooked back up and running.

I can't believe summer is almost over. :sad2:

I can't wait until you go on your vacation and I get to see all the photos from Disneyland at Halloween. I am very excited about that!!!

Three and a half hours for a faculty meeting??? :scared:
What could anyone possibly have to say??? It's a school, not the Pentagon.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Well, let's see: in those three and a half hours we covered AYP, EBIS, CRCT, ITBS, PSC...with all those acronyms you would think we were the Pentagon -- in some respects running a middle school is probably like running the military...

I thought it would never end...

Of course, I am one of those that sits in the back row and writes notes. I am as bad as a middle schooler during faculty meetings.
