I was just discussing with another wisher how our technology is so mind boggling these days. We have cell phones that are MP3 players and cameras even mini computers to access the net. In the area of electronics we have such amazing things. I'm a techno cavepanda so it's all just amazing to me.
One area that cavepandas understand that keeps stumping our greatest scientists and researchers is the curing of our own bodies. We are still a long way from curing disease and a lot of ailments to the body. But our bodies are pretty darn good at it.
We have the power within each of us to heal most of what goes wrong. We can reverse heart disease and slow aging with the proper diet and exercise. But where we screw up is allowing ourselves to contaminate our bodies with chemicals that are proven, (I'll use proven but suspected is probably a better word), to cause us harm.
When we drink a drink that has nothing natural about it, just a mix of chemicals, that are not even regulated by the federal watch agencies, or pop pills that say on the bottle that they do amazing things what are we actually doing to our bodies? Everyone knows that smoking is harmfull and proven to cause a list of ills, but we still do it. Being over weight causes problems that we could cure just by losing some of it.
We have the power within ourselves to be healthy, strong and have sleek powerfull bodies? We just have to take responsibility for our own health.
What if your fairy godmother popped up in front of you right now and said "you can be as strong and slim and healthy as you want to be if you just want it". Would you say, "Oh Gee Fairy Godmother, that's real nice, but ya know I just can't seem to find the energy to go walking/running/biking,swimming ect.. every day and ya know I just can't stop eating to much so I better pass on that".
I know that sounds slimplistic but darn it, it is, we are all that is holding us back from having a healthy strong, sleek body and boundless energy. We already have the technology within us, technology that is so much more wonderfull than we realize.
I'm not vain enouth to think for one second that by saying this I can make a difference in anyones thinking. But we all reach a point where we have to make a decission to either change our way of living or face some severe results. When your Dr tells you that if you don't change you are going to die within a few years does it carry more weight?
Just for arguements sake, what if today you decided to stop drinking soda and started eating better. What if you made sure you got regular exercise and did your stretching. What if you made the committment to yourself that you were worth it. What if you went to your spouse and said I want us to start living a healthier lifestyle because I want us to have as many years together as possible.
Now here is the punchline, ya ready? What if you were already part of a group of people who would support you, would ya give it a shot?
