The Pouting Post - aka, I Wanna Be In Disney World

Ok, that's it, I can't take it anymore. This whole "no planned trip to look forward to" thing is really cramping my style. Actually, I should say "officially" planned trip - anyone on the DIS knows that even if you don't have a countdown to admire, you're still secretly scheming a way to get family and friends back to the magic....


I want to be in Disney World, and, since I can't be, I've decided to bring Disney World to ME. But then I thought, "well, what's Disney World without lots of other happy people sharing the fun too?" so I figured I'd invite you guys all along.


So here's the Pouting Post for everyone who needs a little Disney Magic! Who's in??

And, more importantly, who's bringing the Mickey ice creams???

Okay--I join in the pouting. I never had a dole whip or a mickey bar yet. Its almost been 8 years since I been there.

Okay, I probably shouldn't post since we were just there but I'm going through some major withdrawl this time. I think it is because we had such a fantastic time this last trip. Can't wait to go back to the magic.

Oh to be at Casey's Corner enjoying a hot dog and listening to the wonderful piano player. For those of you who know him...he is 50 years old!!! Can you even believe it?

I've never even got to have one yet.

I'll pout along with you because we aren't going again till October, but I have nothing definate planned yet.

We might just redo our kitchen instead of a trip . . .oh the horror!

Lots of friends are there now for a pin event(yeah I am one of those) and I am trying to be gracious.
But just let me say:

I feel so much better now.

No trip to WDW until October, over 6 months - I'll never make it!!

Let's see, I could absolutely go for a beavertail right about now.

I HATE not having a trip planned. But hope springs eternal--after all we are DVC owners and you never know when some unexpected $ might turn up .

I have a terrible case of Disney withdrawl. I have not had a vacation in 3 years. My whole life I have wanted to visit Italy. Instead of visiting, I will be moving there this summer. I have a week in May where I have to take care of personal business and all I can think about is........the money I am spending on that week in Italy, I could have 2 weeks in Disney World ON PROPERTY! I must be crazy

We were just there in February....

if we were there today.....I would be i Fort Wilderness..

.i would awake to the sound of a peacock's cry....look outside and see the culprit perched in a tree....

smell the fresh Disney air.....

we'd probably be heading to the Magic Kingdom...getting there by boat....

looking at Discovery Island off to the left...remembering how much my Mom loved the island...

seeing the Contemporary as we motor by...

then...there it is...Cinderela's Castle...

knowing there's a smoked turkey leg in my future...

going throuh security...the admission turnstile...

seeing all the charcacters in front....getting my picture taken with Snow White...then Pluto....

hmmmm...

not going again until December....

Ok, so so far we've got Mickey ice creams, turkey legs, Disney pins (for TiggersMom), a peacock to wake up Brer_Papa, Casey's hot dogs, and some beavertails....we're well on our way, I think!!


Carpooling sounds like a great idea, TimeForMe!! I've already got plenty of Disney classics ready for the trip....the rental car does have a multi-disk changing cd player, right??


Perhaps we could pick up Wish Upon A Star, too, and make it a Magical Gathering!!

Our vacations are all messed up this year. I had to take a week this week that I had not planned on taking (my company was sold and all earned vacation time had to be taken by May 1) and all of DHs vacation time is in the fall when no one but him is off. I am hoping that the week he is off in Oct is the same week the kids have 2 days off (the school doesn't know yet which week they are off) and I might just have a little sniffle that I need to take 2 days off with and we may be going to take a quick 4 day trip down then. I am having MAJOR vacation envy......

I'm totally with you, Fantasmic. It makes me crazy! I actually have fantasies about winning the lottery and (after putting money in the kids college funds) the first thing I'll do is plan a huuuuuuge disney trip for me and my loved ones. Of course, the crimp in that plan is that I probably should be playing the lottery if I ever expect it to happen.....

It's two years this week since I've been there. Went for my 50th and I'm getting very down because I have to be here this year. DD wants to go in January for her 18th but don't know if I can swing it and not sure I want to go in January. I'll bring the coke samples for everyone!!!!

I'm with you. It's been 4.5 years since our magical vacation to WDW. For one reason or another (mostly financial) I've had delay our next trip a few times. This fall was supposed to be the absolute, but DH lost his job and no job = no money. I had to pull all of the reserved funds to pay bills.

DH went back to work a few weeks ago and time to startup payroll deductions for a vacation club is in a couple of weeks. I'm debating how much I can part with on a weekly basis.

I get my fix by coming here, watching the WDW shows on The Travel Channel or stopping by TDS.

I'm with you guys and we just got back at the beginning of this month . I'll bring some chili chese fries from Pecos Bills in case anyone needs heartburn - LOL. Our next trip is in October and October just isn't getting here fast enough! Actually, we're planning on a move to Orlando when my boss of 20 years retires but he keeps changing his retirement date. The last word is that it will be in December, 2004 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. In the meantime, he's very flexible about vacations so we spend about 2 weeks 2x a year at WDW. So once we're there, everyone will be welcome at our house -- we'll pitch a couple of tents in the backyard and pretend it's Ft. Wilderness.

Brer_Papa is a big fibber! He's the biggest pouter of all! We were there in Feb. for our 32nd wedding anniversary but it's a long time till December, our next visit to the World. And so because Brer_Papa is such a pouter and seeing how I know how much he likes his corn.....I'll bring the popcorn!

I echo that plan entirely!! Besides secretly planning Disney vacations, spending my fictional lottery jackpot is one of my favorite hobbies!! I really envy all you DVC owners - that's the first thing I'll do if I ever find myself coming into an obsene amount of money (my own college is just about paid off, and no kidlets to worry about yet!). Then I'd buy everyone I love an AP, too!!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one pouting, and, truthfully, all of a sudden I feel almost selfish, considering how many people have waited longer than I have to revisit Disney World. (Key word = almost...no one should ever have to wait so long that they suffer WDW withdrawal, no matter how quickly we come down with it after our return!!)

To all you October travelers - I envy you. My last trip was in October, and it was my favorite time to go. I'm hoping hoping hoping WISHING that Disney offers another Fairy Tale Package so I can go again!!

Well, anyway - looks like no one will go hungry on our trip!! By the way, I've got the stamps covered - we'll all be writing out plenty of postcards to the poor suckers we're leaving behind!!
