This is our visit to the world as our first escape from reality since living through Superstorm Sandy last October. Thought I'd try to do a daily update trip report from on site so here's day one.
Spent last night in a Comfort inn outside Atlantic City, NJ. Got up at 4am to catch a 7:30 flight to MCO. ME to POFQ, room was ready on arrival at 11:30. Unpacked a bit and the caught the boat to DTD for 1:30 lunch ressie at T-Rex. It just started raining as we were checking in and poured while we were eating. Meal was OK. Flavors were decent, but my ribs were overcooked, carrots undercooked and cole slaw under seasoned. DW didn't much care for her shrimp dish either. The chocolate extinction dessert was easily the best part of the meal - decadent. Did a little browsing around DTD, got pin lanyards for the kids and activated photopass+. Boated back to the resort to pick up groceries delivered by Garden Grocer and just beat another rain storm back to the room. Got dinner from the food court and it was better than our table service lunch. Pot roast, collard greens, jambalaya, cornbread, and those legendary bengniets. Hitting the hay early to make rope drop tomorrow.
