Hi all, we’re back! You may remember us from this dining report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2076896

If not, we’re a couple who do trip reports together. We’ve been married seven and a half years. The news about us is the addition of two to the family! That’s right we adopted twins. They’re eight months today and will be 18 months when we travel to WDW Nov 28 – Dec 5.

We’ll be staying at Pop with the dining plan. Pop is DW’s favorite resort, and it’s up there for me too. If free dining hits those dates this year, that’d be sweet. *Fingers crossed*

It’s our first visit to the World during the Christmas season and our first with kids. Therefore, we figure we’ll take things slow and see the sights more than do any rides. Goofy’s Candy Kitchen is our favorite place, so we know we’ll be heading there a few times. We will definitely be doing MVMCP.

It’s too soon for ADRs, but we’re hoping for Chef Mickey's breakfast, 1900 Park Fare dinner, Crystal Palace breakfast, Kona Café and Donald’s Safari Breakfast. However, we’re very tentative so if anyone has suggestions for places that would be good for the twins, let us know. Also, let us know if you have suggestions for sites to see or activities we should hit.

Obviously this is way early, so I’m not sure how often we’ll update until we can do ADRs and plan things more concretely. Any questions though post away!

Thanks everyone for reading.

Short update. We booked through AAA and just got the paperwork. Our trip is a go! They also sent a cute Valentine's card with a Mickey head on it. It was neat.

That sounds exciting, twins! I took my son last August for his trip to the World, he was 16 months old, and he had a good time. I will warn you, and I'm sure you already know, it's hard to tell how they will react to characters! My son was fine meeting Mickey and Minnie in Toontown, but at Crystal Palace he freaked out every time one of the characters showed up. Maybe it's because he was focused on eating everything in sight, and they snuck up on him, but it was wierd! He also got his first haircut there, and I loved it! He wasn't so thrilled, but he survived, and it was so worth it! Are your twins boys or girls or one of each?

stephielela is right, you never know how they will react to giant teddy bears and mice walking around.....We took my son when he had just turned 2 and while he wasn't phased by the charachters he fell in love with PUSH the talking trash can.....He wanted to touch ever trash can for the rest of our trip and even though its been almost 18 months since that trip he still talks in his "PUSH" voice and wants to talk to trash cans!!!!! Now, my 5 year old nephew has NEVER been a fan of anything dressed up! He freaked out when he was about 18 months old when he saw someone with a fake stuffed talking parrot on their shoulder! He has yet to get over this fear. He doesnt like Chick-Fil-A because they have someone in the cow costume! Kids can be funny little creatures! I am so happy that you adopted! That is amazing and I give you much respect! My kids are going to be 4 and 8 when we go back to Florida in December and they can't wait. They look at the scrapbooks all the time and tell me how much they want to go. Also beware......ALOT of kids that are under 3 are terrified of the fireworks. They are loud and make their hearts feel funny. Thats how my daughter put it. Be ready to hold them and cover their ears. I can't wait to read more updates! Ahhhh, snacks........BRING THEM!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. We live right beside Busch Gardens Williamsburg and we cant go without snacks. If you have a soup (hot/cold) thermos, cut up hot dogs are great, fruit snacks, graham crackers, tons of toddler snacks. Also make sure you bring several back up sippy cups or bottles. We lost about 4 during the 9 days we were there. luckily I am OCD when it comes to packing so I had about 20 with me! If they still drink formula then you can buy it in single servings that you just rip open and pour it into the bottles. It costs a little more but its super convenient. Crystal light also makes little packets like that so you can do it for a small drink if needed. feel free to PM me.....We are amusement park freaks and have been doing it for almost 8 years with kids! It can get overwhelming but its well worth it!

Wow, fun - but you're brave! ;) I have twins, and we didn't attempt it until they had just turned 5. But, I'm sure you'll have a ball - especially since you've been before. I might have attempted it if we'd been before we had them.

Thanks for sharing, can't wait to hear the details as they come in! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the posts, tips, and support! Cathy (DW) wants me to throw some pics up, so you all get to know us. Here we are:

The whole family. Jason and Cathy with the twins. Livie is on the left, Luke on the right.

Fairly recent picture of the babies growing up way too fast! Just had to go to the next level of car seat at 8 months because they're too big.

Luke's making a face at the orange light that flashes before the flash. He's our goof.

Well that's it for now but more to come for sure.

Awwwww they are adorable!!! I always wanted twins when I was younger, but since I am a single mom, I am happy with my just one, :rotfl2: Adopting is an amazing gift, that's so great! About sippy cups, the "take and toss" ones are great, and cheap! Also, the kids meals in Disney are HUGE for babies and toddlers, even my monster eater never ate all of one (except those grapes, he loved them!). The kids meals are also decently priced, so having them share one rather than hauling a whole meal into the park and having to worry about heating it is so worth it! The other saving grace is the baby care centers. It is so nice to have a quiet, clean place to change a diaper, and if its hot, it's great to go in and fill up a sippy cup with bottled water, since some kids are sensitive to changes in tap water. You are going to have a great time!

What adorable babies!! I am sure you'll have a blast! Can't wait to hear more about your trip! :cutie:

The babies are adorable. I really enjoyed reading your dining report and am looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Your children are adorable! Congratulations! I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip!

They're gorgeous. When we first went our twins (both DD's) often shared a meal as a whole one was too much. Now they eat more than we do, mind you they've just turned 16!!

Followed your link from the Dec Code Watch thread :D

Aww, your kids are precious!!

Too bad that you'll be gone by the time I get there - my DD will be 27 mos, and my nephew will be 12 mos when we go (Dec 9 -16, tentatively) and we are possibly staying at Pop, too!

I took my DD in February 09 (Eep, a year ago today we arrived!) when she was 4 mos, and we had an absolute blast!

What a blessing -- for you, and for them! Can't wait to hear from the parent's perspective of such young children! Of course, it's still more of YOUR vacation than theirs...but that will change soon enough!!

Followed the link over from your dining reviews. Your children are beautiful. :goodvibes

Thank you all for the kind words! Short update to say Disney finally sent our new planning DVD. We guess they were saving it for Valentine's Day. So our big Valentine's event is watching the DVD in bed. Yay!

Soooooo... We're thinking of doing Le Cellier, but we're just not sure with the twins. Any suggestions or recommendations if this is a good idea?
