If they can monetize it, they will. Start saving your pitiful duckets now.I'm just hoping it has a decent store with an art-on-demand kiosk that lets you buy the resort's artwork like RIV and the Wish.
All the resorts should offer that.
In the aerial photos I see that the sidewalk from the spa/wedding pavilion parking lot will basically extend into the Poly tower parking lot and likely to the entrance of the tower. This “under the monorail” path would technically be a shorter path to the GF main building & MK rather than meandering along the lagoon & pool.Path might go in front of the building instead of along the lagoon. I hope not, though!
100% agree, just *hoping* for crappy hotel/park sales in 2024 and maybe awesome incentives?Thread is all over the place so contributing to the chaos.
-Indeed a monstrosity lol
-Painful point charts
-Mirrored design to Disneyland Hotel Villas
-Mirrored buy-in to Disneyland Hotel Villas
-Seems like too many room options to be same association
-Duo studios are like cereal boxes getting smaller but costing the same
-Oddly still want to buy here![]()
Will Disney really have 30 pool view rooms? Perhaps they only have preferred and standard view?
Is there a breakdown on the room type+count per view?
Basically, I wonder how this will look if same association. Seems there will still be a huge portion of standard view studio rooms.
Existing PVB room counts
- 288 Standard Studios
- 72 Lakeview Studios
- 20 Bungalows
Great view! Thx.
I'm having trouble visualizing how Aotearoa, Fiji & Tuvalu fit into this design...
(A part of me thinks MAYBE some day they will be refitted & made into DVC inventory, if that's permitted?)
Fiji 1st fl patios look to be within a few feet of the pool fencing that will exist. (NO, THANK YOU!)
Also space for walkways around that pool area? The distance in pix may be deceiving but will all guests (including PVB) still have a path to GF & walkway to MK, especially if new beach/grassy area hits right up to lagoon fencing???
Exactly...Looks like someone in the very corner room of Aotearoa can high five someone staying in the corner of the tower from their balconies. So close they could make a two bedroom lockoff that spans both buildings!
Helpful!!! Thank you... I may need to Uber from Pago Pago, but who cares? The walkways are marked in yellow in the image below.
Walking between the Grand Floridian and the original Poly will be available on either the parking lot side or the lagoon side of the tower.
There just is not a walkway between the pool and the lagoon, so if someone wanted to walk from Tuvalu or Fiji over to the lagoon side entrance of the tower, they would have to walk behind the pool to get there.

I'm probably in the minority here but I appreciate some of these resorts with more updated looks. I was at the Poly about a week ago and the longhouses are definitely showing their age particularly on the staircases and etc. Those will still be there after the tower is built. These newer resorts aren't as much in your face Disney but a lot more subtle like RIV. I don't want them to strip away the theming but to do it in a more elegant manner. As much as I like the heavily themed resorts I do appreciate the modern aesthetic they have in these newer resorts. I'm also more of a fan of tower resorts vs. multiple spread out buildings so it's nice to have this as an upcoming option.I loved the theme look of the Poly. That overrides location for us as we love OKW and AKV as we go there when there’s snow up here and it makes it feel so magically tropical. The more progress on the poly tower the more I worry that the magic of the theme and look will be gone from that resort. Maybe I’m wrong, but feels disappointin.
I agree. Towers just make it so much easier to get around. The sprawling resorts, especially having to walk outside in the FL rain/heat just sucks sometimes. It was a con for us during our most recent hawaii trip lol. It was a slight inconvenience when it was just my wife and I. With a daughter now, it can be downright painful.I'm probably in the minority here but I appreciate some of these resorts with more updated looks. What’s interesting is the fact that this is a tower, so it’s close to itself, but it doesn’t appear to have a monorail or bus stop, so you’ll still have to walk further to the tower than the spread out resort bungalows, right?I agree. That's a fair point. I was speaking in more general terms though I guess. You would still run into this issue at poly or CS Gran Destino. What’s interesting is the fact that this is a tower, so it’s close to itself, but it doesn’t appear to have a monorail or bus stop, so you’ll still have to walk further to the tower than the spread out resort bungalows, right?
It does appear very convenient to the boat launch though.
I don’t know guys, these towers certainly dominate the area you put them, not exactly subtleI agree. Towers just make it so much easier to get around.
In six months or so this won’t look like a concrete monolith anymore. That will make a big difference.I don’t know guys, these towers certainly dominate the area you put them, not exactly subtle
Bay Lake Tower though, that fits well in its surroundings to me
Excuse me, you’re selling the yellow rooms short. Those are very clearly “Monorail View”Pool view rooms will be in the area marked in blue, see image below.
They will not have the angle to be theme park view, but DVC will put them above standard view.
Unless they put some dedicated 2-bedrooms in that section, there will likely be a combined 30 rooms there.

I’m so confused though- it seems like it would be a logistical nightmare to separate our guests from Poly vs Poly2. There would be pool access for both?I think it will be for sure. More years left on Poly than VGF.
