The Plaza and Mid-Day Parade

I remember once upon a time my family and I were having a desert as a restaurant in MK which had an outdoor patio where we were seated.

It was mid-afternoon.

Much to our surprise, part way through eating the desert the Disney mid-afternoon parade went by the restaurant. This was a total surprise to us. Our outdoor patio seats gave us a terrific view of the parade.

It was a table service restaurant I believe.

Was this The Plaza restaurant? If no, what restaurant might it be?

As well, for those in the know around what time in the afternoon would the parade start to go by the outdoor patio eating area at this restaurant?

And, for this restaurant, can one make an ADR requsting a seat on the patio or if inside against the window to see the parade?

I'm hoping to make an ADR for this restaurant in the afternoon slightly before the parade starts to go by to surprise my DD.

Depending on how long ago this happened, it could have been Tony's Town Square Restaurant when the patio was still open-air. In the 1980's we had breakfast on the verandah each time we visited WDW.

Nope, it wasn't Tony's for sure. This restaurant was I thought not at the end / beginning of Main Street (i.e. Tony's location) but it was more 1/2 way or so up Main Street I thought.

Could you be thinking of maybe Cosmic Rays..

I know you cannot see from the plaza. There are seats outside, but the seats are not elevated. There will be people standing in front of you...

Cosmic Rays if you sit out on the balcony you can see the parade. from the corner. I really cant think of any good desserts from there... but just a suggestion.

The afternoon parade is at 3pm. You can't make requests on ADRs but when you check-in for your ADR, you can ask to be seated on the patio. They may or may not let you wait for a patio table. It depends on how busy probably. I know some restaurants make you take the first table available but not sure if all will do this.

Tony's does have a view of the parade, and they still have a few tables outside on the porch. I would think the Plaza would have an obstructed view due to people standing around. You're slightly elevated when sitting on the Tony's patio.

The current TS restaurants are Crystal Palace (buffet at the end of Main Street, by Casey's across from the Plaza), CRT (in the castle, signature), Liberty Tree Tavern in Liberty Square, the Plaza at the end of Main St, and Tony's in town square. I'm not sure about any that may have been there at another point in time that have since closed, if any...
