Well, I'm sitting here enjoying my favorite time at the fort, early morning. While it's good and daylight now, I get up just as you start to see a little in the sky.I started to post in the chit chat thread but figured I could just start one for this trip. We don't have much of a plan, but then again, we never do. everything gets based on how crowded things are. I am going to try and find at least one DISer while we are here ( at least chief19spixi is supposed to be here).I think there are 3 or 4 of us listed on the calender.
The Fort looks pretty good, I'm sure we will take a few pictures to post. I will have to wait and see how the aircard works for pictures and decide if that should wait until we get home. We took a random loop this time and got the 1200 ( site 1212 ) and have some nice nieghbors. The site across from us and next to us are one familly. The dad is across and the son next to us. They are from New Hampshire a fun to talk to ( of course after I started setting up I got a lot of " don't like Disney much do you " I guess this isn't your first trip " ). another site across from us has a Mickey that it near the top of the pine trees ( looks like at least 80 ft up ). During the day it is red ( fuzzy and shiney like garland ) and at night it lights up blue. I will get some pics to show everyone. I think that has to be on my list of things to make. I've seen the cart dressed up like Minnie already ( it's here more than Donnie I think ). anyway, gotta go for now, I'll check in later.

Mike... The blue Mickey in the tree.... tell me... does the site have an older Flair Gasser MH & a big tent set up behind it? Do they have an older Lincoln for their auto??

Thanks for the report Mike. Both the people with the Minnie cart and the Mickey light up in the tree have been there for months. I remember seeing them back in October.

I asked DD if she wanted to go this weekend and she said no it wasn't long enough for her lol. I have to agree. It's not worth going unless you can go early Friday. Have a blast.

I can’t remember a time in the past couple of years I didn’t see that Mickey in the trees. Last time we where that the Minnie cart was staying in the 800 loop at was last year.

Thats them. The couple straight across said they come for a few months every year and try to get the same site.

Well, so far a fairly uneventful day. We took our time getting going this morning and went over MK for a bit. Had lunch at Cosmic Rays and rode Buzz Lightyear. After that we walked over to Aventureland but didn't ride anything. after walking around for a little while we decided to head back to the MH for a break. I took Lisa over . to the pool but apparently it was hard to relax and read her book with 1,000,000 screaming kids everywhere. She lasted about an hour and I took that time to find out why the radio in the cart wasn't working well. When I finished I went for a ride around some loops to see if I could find some DISers to stalk . Either I haven't made it to them or, everyone pulled in thier signs and/or lampost to hide from me . right now we are taking a little time in the A/c before we go do something else. I'm hoping to find some others for the trails end pick before we go but who knows.
The crowds at MK were surprisingly not bad. I don't know if it's a good weekend or if alot of people are going to the Pirate and Prncess party tonight so they aren't going today. I did get a couple of pictures of some cool golf carts. One guy pulled up next to us and after Lisa complimented his cart, he said it was a B-day present for his wife and he gets to drive it ocasionally. I of course had to thank him for raising bar for me . I better get back to livin the good life and I'll check back in later.

Okay.... the "Blue Mickey in the tree people".... their names are Ray & Diana. Walk over there if you get a chance & tell them Rick & Debbie Smith say HI!!

They are terrific people & very entertaining! We've known them for about 8 years. You should see their decorations at Christmas.... they are over the top, but very tastefully done!

I am green with envy here...... 6 months until I get down there, but we just planned trips to Green Lakes, Moe. Down, and Letchworth for the summer. 2 out of three kids are here and that's about as good as it gets these days.

As a matter of fact, we are...

I am pretty sure that this does not need to be said to the people on this board but, I have to say it. If you are walking around a loop and are stretched acroos the road, I don't think it would ruin your vacation to make a big enough hole for us to get through with our cart, but it might put a damper on you vacation if I decide I can't keep my thoughts to myself. Twice we actually had to stop because we were going to run someone over. Mind you, this is not coming up from behind, this is with our headlights pointing at them. one girl just about walked into us because she was looking somewhere else. On this one I was going to laugh if she did but, I wasn't going to warn her. The worst part is her Dad was watching her and us the whole time and never said anything to her. Another one we actually had to stop for almost a full minute because no one would move. I am not normally the type of prson that can keep my mouth shut but, I managed to contain myself ( even though the one familly didn't deserve my kindness ).
Anyway, we saw minimal decorations around. we did see about 4 lamp post and one had a color changing bulb.At night the color changing bulb was pretty cool, I think we are going to look into these when we get back.
I havent seen any DISers at this point.At least none that I can say for sure are. There was one site that I think is so I might go back there today and see if they are at their site. Lisa seems to think that I am more on the stalker side rather than the friendly side . I guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

On our old cart DH put a horn from an old Cadillac on it that was really LOUD!! Whenever we encounted the "it's all about me" people, I'd get right up behind them and lay on the horn. I'm sure a few of them had to go back to their campers and change!!!
