For those who enjoyed this when it was the Book Club read last year, Channel 4 are finally showing it on Saturday at 9pm.

I loved the book and have been very impatiently waiting for it to be televised. Just about every other country has already seen it and I was thinking I'd be able to order the DVD from US before it was shown over here!

There are a few changes from the book but hopefully it will still be good.

I've been trying to read this for about a year! I'm only about a quarter of the way through because as soon as I got into one set of characters story then the next section would begin. I tell you, doing an English Lit degree ruined reading for enjoyment for me . Now I'm wondering if I should just forget about reading the book. Catch it on TV instead? Or make an effort to read it properly and sky+ the tv show... Thanks for letting us know .

That's exactly how I felt about it. I get quite emotionally involved with characters in books. I'll be interested to see what the TV series is like, though.

I'm looking forward to it too - I would never have even thought about reading it until it was mentioned on the DIS (a black cover about the building of a cathedral in the 1100's - ugh!) - yet I loved the book!

I have read and enjoyed the next one - World without End - and have just received his latest from Amazon - Fall of Giants - which I will start reading this weekend when DH and I go for 3 nights to Champneys to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

I enjoyed World Without End too ~ although sometimes I really wanted to give Caris a good shake!

It's recently been announced that it's been optioned by Tandem Communications for a possible eight-hour television series so hopefully that will be on our screens within a year or two.

Please let me know what you think of Fall of Giants.

I love the books and can't wait to read the next one. I am looking forward to the series but...they never quite live up to the books... imho we will see
