Somewhere on these boards I read about the pick a pearl thing (ofcourse I can not find the thread now) and I no it was located in Epcot and also Downtown Disney.

Can someone tell me more precisely where in Downtown Disney it is located? Want to try to make this the 1st stop so we can then do everything else and then go back to pick it up.

Thanks in advance!

Yep. There are two stalls on property.

One is in DTD in the Marketplace near the waterfront. It is in the area near the Pooh's Corner store, Goofy's Candy Co., etc.

The other is in the Mitsukoshi store in Japan in Epcot.

The Mitsukoshi store is a lot more fun and you are already in the park on a day that you visit you can pick your pearl and go about your day throughout the park. Be sure and pick a real fuzzy (hairy) oyster because they have the biggest pearls in them. Just have fun!!pirate:

Good Post - thanks for idea!! Does anyone know if the pearl setting are the same in Epcot and DTD? Thanks in advance....;)

We are going to have to gfo to the location in Downtown Disney, although the Epcot one is so appealling!

Re the one in DTD, is it in a store or just a booth?

Thanks to everyone

This link should take you to the other thread you were talking about:

I am also curious if the settings are the same at both locations. I haven't read through the entire other thread yet though - just had bookmarked it.

Be cautious about the cost. I kept asking how much to have it set. Of course the answer was always the same- depends on the size. I did get a nice piece of jewelry. But it was more costly than I was anticipating.

I also remember seeing a booth along the walk to the boatdock at the Y&B resort, from EPCOT's IG to Y&B its on the left, lake side before the boat pier. don't know if its the same but I remember the pearl booth.

Yes there is also a fairly large kiosk right next to the boatdock at the Yacht Club resort. We watched someone choosing her pearl and picking out her setting. He seemed to have a very good selection of settings at this location. We have done the one in Japan. My niece was so disappointed when her pearl fell out of its setting shortly after returning home. I guess they are just glued in the setting, so you might be better off having it set at a reputable jeweler when you return home. The atmosphere at the Japan location is great as the women who run it put on a big show when opening the oyster which draws a fairly large crowd. The pearls themselves are not that expensive; the settings are what add the expense.
