FL kids have already begun school. Labor Day is usually a bit busier because by then our kids have already been in school 4 weeks and the 3 day weekend at Disney is a nice little break.

We leave on Sunday!!! 5days---OMG I can't believe it!!!

We were there last year too...same time and we loved it so we are going back. I was a little worried about free dining but I changed a couple of ADRs just yesterday and had no problem with Fantasmic Dinner Pkg/ BOMA and SciFi for lunch. That is a very good sign as far as expected crowds!!

POLY GVC--here we come :cool1:

we are leaving this coming saturday. The last two trips we made were in the fall and it seems to be less crowded toward off season.

Also hoping crowds stay manageable. We leave Thursday morning for 7 nights at the WL. :cool1:

I leave tomorrw too, I was a little worried that the free dining would have the parks packed and I was worried because the weather didnt look like its going to be so great...

I was just there all last week and thought the crowds were manageable, I wouldnt say low or empty though. We didn't have any problems at Animal Kingdom or MGM on Sunday and Monday but every day we went to Magic Kingdom the crowds started to show up by 11 and then there were 30 to 40 minute waits for everything at that point. We managed by splitting up Magic Kingdom into three mornings and got everything done that we wanted to do and did Epcot on our last morning. So I would definitely say manageable.

Hey DISers,

We are here right now. It is awesome.

We arrived yesterday at noon, checked in and headed to EPCOT. Grabbed a FP to Soarin right away (2:30 return time). In the time between grabbing the FP and returning we did: Space Ship Earth, Test Track 2X, The Land, The Circle of Life Movie, had lunch at Electric Umbrella and played inside of Imaginations for a bit. After Soarin we hit El Rio de Tiempo (walk on) and Maelstrom (5 minutes) as we walked back to the hotel.

This morning we arrived at MK at 9:15 and left at noon. We knocked out: breakfast at the bakery, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Fantasmic, Snow White, TTA, POTC and were just about to get on to Buzz before the ride started experiencing technical dificulties and was temporarily closed...

We've been here during this week 2 of the last 3 years. Crowds are definitely down.

Love it!

it's great to get first-hand info... thanks pkdcoastrs :)

we've been to the world labor day weekend (and days before and after) three times in the last five or six years, including last year, and it's always been VERY manageable crowd-wise! i'm not remotely worried! :flower:

lovemygoofy... great pic of you and your soldier! thank him for his service for us! :)

Are there any particular parks that are worst than others during the labor day weekend, since I will be down there at that time (fri-mon).?

Thanks for the first hand report. We land tomorrow at 11:45 and plan on going to Epcot. Quick question. Were there still fastpasses available for Test Track and Soarin mid afternoon?

They killed the FP for Soarin around 3PM probably because it was an EMH night as it was a 2 hour return time when we were boarding the ride...

Test Track we literally walked right on. The first time up, we took the single rider line and when we got to the front there were 0 people on the FP or regular lines...

DH and I went to Animal Kingdom yesterday. The safari had no wait. We walked right up. The trails were very light. No wait for TTBAB. It was hot but the crowds are down-yes! :cheer2: :cloud9:

Is the free dinning in effect for people now? Or is this pre-free dinning crowds?

Yay- I go the Sat b/f Labor Day- can't wait!! Hope everyone's who's going soon has a blast!!

:cool1:

we are leaving in exactky 10 hours....Southwest Flight #900 now departing...

Love going this time of year...hot, yes...crowds, light they are!

We were at Epcot on Sunday. We noticed too, how empty it was. When we were in World Showcase at UK, we went into the one store. Pooh and Tigger were just walking around. Nobody was in line to see them. So ds has Pooh, Tigger, Alice and Mary Poppins all to himself until they had to leave for tea!

Free dining started on the 21st of August, So I guess Sunday was the day it started. Thanks for sharing everyone!

My brother and his family went three weeks ago and said the parks were empty and they walked on everything. I didn't believe her, but now after reading these posts, I do.
