[seconds later he gets up and leaves]

Cherry: [Turns to Johnny] Thank you... he had me scared to death!
Johnny: You sure didn't show it. Ain't nobody ever talk to Dal like that!
Cherry: From what I saw, you do."

"Dallas: Johnny, you don't know what a few months in jail can do to you, man. You get mean in jail, I just don't wanna see that happen to you like it happened to me, man. Understand?"

"Dallas: [passing Ponyboy while lying on a stretcher at the hospital after saving the children from the burning church] You ever pull a stunt like that again, I'll kill you."

"Johnny: I killed him. I killed that boy.
[Quiet, scared voice]
Johnny: I killed him.
Ponyboy: I think I'm gonna be sick

I'm reading it in ELA too.
We're only on Chap 3, but I've already read the book before.
I first read it in grade 5 when my brother was reading it for school.
Then I bought it last year and read it.
I've seen half the movie, but prefer the book.
I love Sodapop and Johnny.
The end of it makes me bawl.
Badly.

I've read it so many times, because I like it so much and because I had to read it for school twice.

I read it and watched the movie in English in eighth grade.
Everyone in the entire grade LOVED it and went all crazy over it.
I thought it was just okay.

I saw part of the movie on Friday. I couldn't concentrate because no one cared to watch the movie. If they did, they'd be making tons and tons of side comments. Spoiler: When Johnny killed Bob everyone started laughing! I mean why the heck would you laugh at a time like that?

I don't know.. Some people find violence funny.
My friend said that when someone dies (I'm not saying who, because you said no spoilers) and the next chapter Ponyboy is pretending that said person is still alive..
Some people actually believed his pretending and thought the character was alive xD

My mom told me that there is more than one death in the book/movie. She told me which Greaser/Greasers (I think she said two..?) of them die. I already know one of them that dies. I just couldn't enjoy the movie in that class. I never can. I have like around 5 class clowns in my class. Which sucks. One of them gets in trouble a lot.

My mom told me that there is more than one death in the book/movie. She told me which Greaser/Greasers (I think she said two..?) of them die. I already know one of them that dies. I just couldn't enjoy the movie in that class. I never can. I have like around 5 class clowns in my class. Which sucks. One of them gets in trouble a lot.

Yes, there is two deaths.
But after the first one, Ponyboy is trying to convince himself it didn't happen.
Shortly after another one gets himself killed on purpose. Ponyboy isn't really shocked about it, because he knew it would happen someday.

The book is amazing...I read it in 7th grade. We also watched the movie which was also good and sad, but I prefered the book. Reading this makes me want to re-read it!
