We have done 14 trips to wdw. This time we would like to do the 4 sea/3 night land package. Our biggest concern is how formal of clothing for nighttime dinners. I have dress pants and shirts and ties. My wife has decent dresses for weddings and occasions. Will we EVER feel underdressed or awkard not wearing dinner jackets and such? It may seem not important to some, but we just want to fit in. I know a tux rental is an option, but then I'm not enjoying myself that dressed up. Please let me know that this should NOT stop us from going on our first cruise. Thanks in advance to all that can help!! :wave2:

No, you'll never feel underdressed.

And no, you should not let this stop you from taking your first cruise.

From what I've read on here you would be fine in those clothes. We are going on our first cruise in June and we are not dressing as formal as some do. I think the 4 day is not as formal as the 7 day also.

There is NO formal night on the 4 day cruise so you should feel just fine!

Did the 3 land/ 4 sea this January. It was pretty casual so do not worry about it. If you are planning to wear a tie, you are already more dressed up than a majority of the men on board.

Wow, when we did the 4-day wonder last year, we still dressed up. Of course it's optional--I love dressing up though. I wore a tux and DW wore an evening gown to Palos and we also wore them for our formal pictures as well. Got quite a few compliments from people on how good we looked, too ;)

But no, don't let this stop you. I mean, you won't feel underdressed unless you start wearing things like mesh muscle shirts and ripped jeans. :rotfl2:

Just don't wear shorts or jeans to dinner and you'll fit in. On formal nights, if you don't want to do the tux/gown thing, just eat at the buffet that night. :)

This is another reason we love the 4 night cruise better than the 7 night. You do not have to dress up. We just take some black pants and put those on with a nice top at dinner time, and after dinner we change back to our comfortable clothes.

It really helps cut down on the packing! The 4 night is great!

We have been on two 4 day cruises and you should have no worries about what you wear. The "formal" night is just the night where they have the good back drop for the pictures. I just wore a nice dress, something along the lines of a church dress, if that makes any sense. The rest of the cruise was very casual! I had a pair of nice black capris that I wore a couple of nights with just a nice shirt. But the rest of the time I was in shorts.

From experience, I've never packed a tie for either the 3- or 4-day. Khakis and polos for dinner and the shows, and I take a jacket and at least one dress shirt for Palo and pictures. And I don't think I've ever felt over- or under-dressed.

Neither DW nor I are big clotheshorses, but dressing up on the ship really isn't that big of a deal for us, even with the new relaxed dress code. My khakis are a lot lighter to pack than my jeans. She wears scrubs every day, so anything that isn't the same color as Listerine is a bonus.

Book it, do it, and have a blast.
