In honor of Monster's University coming out soon I thought I'd open with that! Hello! I'm Hayley and I'm now on Disboards as "Princess32", I had been a member before since the early 2000's under the name of LizSwan32...but I derp-ily forgot my password...oops. But maybe you saw me around back then . Anyways I'M BACK! And ready to begin a Pre-Trip Report that will eventually become...you guessed it...​

MY FIRST REAL TRIP REPORT!​

I won't be doing it alone though! I'll be taking care of all of the writing and my brother David will be doing all of the photography! I'm so excited to begin my very first trip report considering this is going to be my 23rd trip to the World. I know, I know SO LUCKY!

This trip is bound to be packed with laughs, happy tears, and TONS of magic!

So join us while we countdown, then stay tuned for when we DRIVE down! Oh yeah, did I mention? We're driving down from New York!

BUT FIRST...​

A liiiiiiitle bit of history!

My family has always been Disney obsessed. And WDW has always been our home away from home! We became DVC members in 1994 when I was just a year old. Our home resort is Old Key West and we absolutely love it there. Ever since I was born we've gone down each Summer when school let out. And the obsession has only grown over time. A few years ago we bought into BLT and that has become our second home away from home! We originally only took the tour for the free fast passes but then POOF! Disney magic and all that and we were sold! We've also always been annual pass holders too, another thing that I feel so blessed because of, considering we live in NY! That's a brief history on our family's relationship with the mouse and his house, now onto introductions!

DF, Dave

Dad is the trip planner extraordinaire and always has been. You want it, he's got it: color coded itineraries, reservations, fun facts, and if you've always wanted to grow up thinking you're somehow related to Walt Disney, he's the man to make that happen for you. Seriously...I thought Walt was my great uncle for about the first 5 or 6 years of my life... Dad's a middle school band teacher. He and my DM are High School sweethearts and have been together ever since!

DM, Jean

Mom is co-pilot, conflict negotiator, and professional spontaneous happy-dancer. Mom used to be a High School chorus teacher but has recently gone back to school for cosmetology! Which means I get my hair done FO FREE Love my mom!

DB, David

David is a 14 year old boy but not your typical 14 year old boy. He is a renaissance man. He's famous for building something if he needs it, and having a green thumb. His current projects include building a ukelele and making Thank You's for his confirmation party out of wood, and photography...yeah...renaissance man. He loves Doctor Who, Top Gear BBC, and anything science related and of course, Disney. I'm lucky that David's like my built in friend! He's also 6'2 and my "little" brother no more haha. He'll also be providing the photos for this PTR/TR!



And Finally, yours truly...me, Hayley!

I'm a BFA Musical Theatre major at Emerson College. I'm a lover of all things Disney related. I currently am home for the summer, working in a restaurant and training for a 5K with David, in hopes to eventually run the Boston Marathon in honor of the victims of the bombings this year. I also love Doctor Who and Friends (hence the title!). I also love everything Walking Dead...so my Dad describes my taste in things as Zombie-Princess-Musical...my taste is eclectic haha.

Yay I'm glad the "Allons-y" attracted whovians! And Thank You ( I think I'll keep them ) And yes David looks much older than 14, he's also much taller than 14! haha Thanks about the marathon goal, going to school in Boston really made me want to do something in honor of the victims and our city.

So now that you know that there's going to be a road trip and you've met the family that's going to be going on said road trip. You should probably know the details of our stay at the World!

We're going to be headed down July 14th for 2 weeks of Disney fun at our home resort Old Key West!




I'm excited about staying at OKW again for the first time in a few years. We've been staying at our most recent DVC home, Bay Lake Tower and while we're in love with it there, we figured to change it up we'd head back to our original home OKW! To me there are so many great things about OKW but above all else to me it's the resort that makes you feel like your trip isn't temporary, like you live in this quaint little community of people who just happen to keep talking about a giant mouse and magic and stuff.

We have a lot of dining reservations lined up that I will reveal along the way. But this year we didn't schedule too many as to not be in a constant state of full haha.

In order to get ready for our trip, David and I are going to compile a list of "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" to hit on our way down or just general tourist trap-y places. We LOVE that stuff! If you guys have any suggestions for places you've found along I95 that would be great! We're also going to make a paper chain with a Disney preparation activity to do each day!

In other family news, my Mom just graduated from cosmetology school and is now a professional cosmetologist! We're all so proud of her and she was totally born to do this! David is taking all of his final exams and is doing really well so far! Dad is ready for a vacation and I'm busy working at my job and writing to you guys!

Things have gotten pretty crazy around here with my job and various summer activities so I'm here to say WE EXIST! And we have just 13 short days until our visit to the World!
