The one where I bring home a *NEW* piece of jewelry!! - a Nov 2021 TR (updated 03/22)

With ponchos and raincoats in tow, to Epcot we will go (part 2)

Hi friends! I'm excited to share with y'all that we have booked a return trip!

Mitch and I booked an adults only trip on the last day of the trip featured in this TR (best way to avoid Disney depression is to book a trip while on your current trip) and recently set a date for the big day. We're getting married on 11/05/2022 and will be headed back to the most magical place on earth on 11/07/2022 staying at Port Orleans-FQ for a mini-honeymoon!

:jumping1:

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

We last left off with my desire to leave Epcot - the crowds and rain were becoming too much and I needed a break.

We made it back to our resort room via Skyliner and changed into some dry clothes. I took a nap and I am unsure what everyone else was doing other than drying their shoes with hairdryers.

After a few hours of being dry, relaxing, and recharging our batteries, it was time to brave the rain again and make our way to Epcot. At this point, it was still raining, but had lightened up a bit. We had dinner reservations at Via Napoli at 7:55pm.

We arrived at the International Gateway and made our way to the World Showcase, stopping for some pictures.

Mitch's 'surprise' face cracks me up, y'all.

With some time to kill before our dinner reservations, we took our time exploring each of the pavilions - catching the Beauty and the Beast Singalong. I am certain that we had some, ahem, intoxicated, people in the theatre with us and they were having such a ball - like they were really into it and I was 100% living for it.

We continued making our way throughout the World Showcase, catching the American Adventure show in the America pavilion and spending a lot of time in Mitsukoshi in Japan, where Delaney spent some money. She loves Japanese culture and was really happy to spend some time there.

It was finally time to make our way into Italy and head to Via Napoli. We got all checked in at the restaurant and were seated within a few minutes of arriving. We were greeted by our server, who was fabulous. Mitch ordered a tequila sunrise and I ordered the sangria flight.

Mitch really liked his drink and I thought that the sangria flight was just okay. They were each a little too dry for me, but clearly it wasn't much of a problem because I finished all three.

As appetizers, we ordered the mozzarella caprese and a caesar salad - both were beautiful and delicious. The produce is always so fresh at Disney - I always love salads at Disney. For dinner, I ordered the carciofi pizza (white pizza with artichokes and truffle oil), Mitch ordered the piccante pizza (red sauce with Italian sausage), Dillon ordered chicken alfredo, and Delaney ordered a kids cheese pizza. Oh my God, y'all. This was our first Via Napoli experience and we were blown away. It was so freaking good; even Mitch, who is a pizza snob, absolutely loved his pizza.

Bringing an amazing meal home - tiramisu. I'm the only person in our family who loves tiramisu and I dug into it before getting a picture of it, but trust that it was some of the best tiramisu that I've had.

With full and happy bellies, it was time to leave. The park had closed during our meal and fortunately we had missed most of the crowds. With ease, we made it onto the Skyliner to head home for the night.

Up next? Hollywood Studios!

Just got caught up.
YAY! for the Haunted Mansion proposal.

I hate being wet and soggy so I don't blame you for being ready to leave the park for a break. Normally I would just tough it out if I was at Disney but sometimes you just need a break from it all.

Loving your trip recap! Congratulations on your engagement!! What a sweet thing that he honored Delaney's wishes! That says so much about him!

Welcome to Hollywood!

After a wet day at Epcot, the skies dried up and the sun tried poking it's way through the clouds and it was Hollywood Studios Day!

637870

It didn't take much to get from our resort to Hollywood Studios with shorter than anticipated lines at both the Skyliner and turnstiles at Hollywood Studios and before we knew it, we were hustling down Hollywood Boulevard towards Toy Story Land - we were going to rope drop Slinky Dog Dash. We were in line for Slinky Dog Dash before SDD was even running and once it opened, we were basically constantly walking in queue right onto the ride. As we exited the ride following our first line, we noticed that there was basically no wait, so we decided to jump back into the queue and ride SDD again - what a way to start the day!

637881637884

After our second ride on SDD, we walked onto Toy Story Mania, and Mitch & Delaney enjoyed a quick ride on Alien Swirling Saucers. I absolutely love to rope drop in the mornings, we are able to squeeze in so many things in the early hours.

Once we were finished with Toy Story Land, we made our way onto Batuu with plans to grab wraps from Ronto Roasters as we waited for our Oga's reservation. I love the Ronto wraps and Mitch thought they were delicious too! After several minutes, we started to make our way over to Oga's and were brought inside after waiting for about 10-15 minutes. It was unfortunate that we did not get a booth, but just one of those bar height tables over to the right. Fortunately for us, we got paired with a group of 3 women and they were hilarious - we really enjoyed chatting with them.

637885637886

Dillon went totally wild and crazy and ordered a Sprite, Delaney enjoyed a Jabba Juice, Mitch ordered a Yub Nub, and I decided to try one that makes your face numb (I don't see it on the menu at Oga's right now, did they take it away!?). Mitch liked his drink a lot and he ordered another one to go for us to sip on as we continued to explore Batuu. Eventually it was time for our LL on Smuggler's Run.

Mitch and I were gunners and the kids were pilots - it was a very bumpy ride! :rotfl2:

And for the second best part of the day, it was time to head to Rise of the Resistance for the first time ever. We booked the IA$ for this Ride, it was $63.92 for the four of us, and honestly..

IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

The entire experience was nothing like anything that any of us had ever experienced and I am still trying to figure out how..that whole experience..works. It's been 2 months and I can only come up with Pixie dust and magic as the only logical explanation. We were rendered speechless and as we disembarked the ride, we could only look at each other in silence as we worked to process what we experienced. Mitch and I were both brought to tears at one point as we were recapping it all.

Whatever you do, you must get on this ride.

Spoiler alert, we canceled our AK day to do another HS day, just to ride RotR again.

We left Batuu and headed towards Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. This was another first for us and I paid for the IA$, but to much of our disappointment, the ride broke down as we made it through the first "room" on the ride and we had to be evacuated. Of course, Disney made it right and gave us a LL with anytime return for us to try again later, but it ended up being down for a couple of hours.

No biggie, we decided to head towards Rockin' Rollercoaster and..experienced a couple of technical delays while we were seated and waiting to take off. All I could think about was getting stuck while upside down on a loop and hoped like none other that the ride wouldn't pause while we were on a loop - so needless to say, I had a smidge of anxiety while on the ride. Naturally we make it through the ride incident free, but I was so nervous and ready to get off, that I put my ears back on before the shoulder harness came up and when they did, my ears flew off of my head behind me.

My 3D printed, Mando & Grogu ears.

I freaked out, my first concern being for the ride - did I just break the ride!? Luckily that answer was no and the cast members were so kind over my snafu, but they couldn't safely get to my ears and told me to check guest services at the end of the night.

Stay turned for Hollywood Studios Day wrapped up plus dinner at Sebastian's Bistro!

Congratulations on your engagement! Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite and the perfect place for an engagement! ❤️

Your trip looks amazing so far and I can't wait to read the rest!

Welcome to Hollywood, part two:

Hi Disfriends!

We last left off with coming to a close with our first Hollywood Studios day.

Our last in-park experience for this day was for Dillon and Delaney to build Droids at Droid Depot - something that we were all pretty excited about!

647862

After we finished up at Droid Depot, it was time to head back to AoA for a little resting time and to get ready for our dinner reservations at Sebastian's Bistro.

We chose to Uber to CBR from AoA because I wasn't feeling too confident about how to get to the restaurant from the Skyliner and it was FREEZING cold that night. We checked in for our dining reservation and after a short wait, was called back and escorted to our booth.

I'm just going to tell y'all right now, do not sleep on Sebastian's Bistro. We had a really, really great meal here and we'll likely be back in the future.

Mitch and I both started off with a cocktail each, I believe we ordered the Goombay Smash and Caribbean Smuggler, which are both rum based cocktails. They were great - very fresh and the alcohol wasn't very strong tasting - they went down very easily.

Our meal started off with the house baked pull apart rolls with guava butter and caramelized onion jam - and it was totally my jam (see what I did there!?) I could've made a meal out of the rolls with the butter and jam, but not to be outdone - the spice necklace salad. Hands down, this is my favorite salad at Disney. Funny note - our salad didn't come with the dressing initially and Mitch and I tried eating it the way that it came and knew something wasn't right. Fortunately our server realized it and brought the dressing out - which makes this salad. The key lime dressing? Chef's kiss!

647865

We also ordered the coconut shrimp enhancement to go with our meal and they were cooked to perfection! The creamy chipotle sauce was perfectly paired with the shrimp.

Overall, the meal here was great. Delaney was pretty unsure of the main entrees and our waitress offered to bring out a kid's meal for her, but we declined and encouraged Delaney to try something new. She ended up enjoying the chicken and broccolini - gotta start somewhere, right? I'm not a huge fan of meat on the bone, so I stuck with the steak and pork, but my unexpected favorite from the main course was the cilantro rice and beans.

647866

We finished the meal with their house-made coconut pineapple bread pudding and it was phenomenal. Granted, I'm a sucker for anything pineapple and/or coconut, but it was absolutely delicious! I hate that I was already so full by the time dessert came out because I could only enjoy a couple of bites before tapping out.

I will be back to Sebastian's Bistro. Even if it's only for this bite right here.

647869

After dinner, the winds noticeably died down and we decided to walk from the restaurant to the Skyliner and I'm glad we did. It was still really cold, but with the wind dying down, it was somewhat bearable. We haven't stayed at CBR yet, but I think we'll have to give this resort a try one day - it was beautiful and the main pool area was really amazing.

popcorn:: Really enjoying your TR! Sounds like lots of fun, good food and even an engagement! Congratulations! What a great place to get engaged and celebrate. Don't blame you for taking a break from soggy Epcot. Glad you returned for your Via Napoli reservation. Love their pizza! Hope you get some nice warmer weather before your trip is over.

Can we go back to Hollywood Studios?

Hi friends - long time, no talk! I think Spring is starting to show her beautiful face and we are at the start of baseball and soccer season!

I've started a PTR - honeymoon edition - we'll be home in 230 days as husband and wife! You can check out the PTR here.

When we last left off, we had enjoyed a lovely dinner at Sebastian's Bistro. Once we said our 'goodnights', Mitch and I were laying in bed, talking about how amazing Rise of the Resistance was and we decided to swap out our planned AK day with an extra day at Hollywood Studios! Fortunately there were park pass reservations available and made the switch pretty easily.

I do love Animal Kingdom and (much like other families) it's not a full day park for us, but since we didn't have park hoppers, we decided that doing another day at Hollywood Studios would be primo, and that had solidified when I was able to buy the IA$ for RotR..again.

The kids were really happy when we shared the change of plans with them that morning and before we knew it, we were walking back down Hollywood Blvd to Toy Story Land.

656503

After riding Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania, we popped over to Woody's Lunchbox for breakfast - I absolutely love this QS restaurant and since it was still early in the morning, we had no trouble finding a seat.

656491

After a hearty breakfast, we made our way onto Batuu to ride RotR..again. Of course it was as amazing as it was the first time.

656493

We spent a lot of time in the shops on this day in particular, Delaney bought a really nice notebook and we enjoyed some blue milk while taking pictures.

656494

With no real plans, we left Batuu and stopped for some beer and ice cream.

656495

We eventually caught the Pixar Pals Motorcade, which was precious, did a lot of people watching, bought a little-kid lightsaber (from the shop by Star Tours), and then decided on a QS lunch at ABC Commissary.

Delaney had uncrustables, I had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese, Dillon had shrimp tacos, and Mitch had the chicken club sandwich. We also got the special anniversary desserts - the caramel apple tart and the chocolate mousse. Overall, we enjoyed our food and got lucky (again) with a nice table outside. While the buffalo chicken grilled cheese wasn't exactly what I was expecting (I didn't realize that I was getting buffalo chicken dip between two slices of bread) it had really good flavor and the bread was perfectly toasted and buttery. I tried a bite of Dillon's and Mitch's food (something we really only do in Disney..) and thought that their meals were pretty good too.

656497656498656499

It's worth mentioning that we liked the 50th Anniversary Celebration desserts too - they both had things that I like and disliked (the crusts on both desserts was my only dislike), but I do recommend that you try them!

Overall, we'd eat here again.

We continued to walk around Hollywood Studios, mainly checking out the shops and watching BatB on stage with Starbucks in hand. Earlier in the day, Mitch had spotted the Millennium Falcon popcorn bucket and we had to get it. We lucked out, the popcorn stand close to Hollywood Brown Derby had them. Two BB-8 sippers, a Millennium Falcon popcorn bucket, a regular souvenir popcorn bucket, and two free pretzels (??) later, we were sitting under the shade around Echo Lake when Goofy came up next to us and started fishing!

656500

656502

We rested our bones for probably 30 minutes or so and we really enjoyed being so close to Goofy - it was a special moment that we got lucky with.

That's all for now! I'll be back with an Ohana dinner review!
