What is the ONE thing about your wedding you would wish you had changed?

What is the ONE thing about your wedding that you would NEVER wish you had changed?

Thought this would be an interesting topic- especially for those just on the cusp of the beginning of planning like me!

I wish I had forced my photographer to use my list. While he got tons of shots that I would never have thought of that were great, he missed some that I wanted. He only took one of DH alone, didn't get a good one of us standing, face forward, at the front (full shot), only 2 poses w/MOH, and none of me with individual bridesmaids. Those are the main things...I had a list, gave it to him, but didn't make sure he stuck to it at all and I didn't have anyone else "managing" that situation.

I wouldn't have changed the ceremony and having our friends and family participate with musical selections. His sister and BIL played a song (flute/piano duet) during a transition, my 2 friends sang a duet (I will be here), and my aunt sang the bridal prayer. It was nice. I didn't enjoy it that day because I didn't really hear them, but watching the video it's nice to know that those are people that really care about us doing those things.

The 1 thing I would change would be my wedding coordinator. She lacked in a lot of places. Sweet as could be though. I went weeks in Nov-Dec without hearing from her. I never got my budget until 1 month before. Hotel reservations were messed up, which meant I spent a lot of time on the phone. The day of wedding some strange woman showed up at the limo to take me in (it was her assisstant that I was not aware of). And 2 weeks after the wedding I still have not heard from her. I thought she would have at least called me. Although my day went perfect I still wish I had a good coordinator at my side to help with the confusion.
So if anyone who is planning a Disney Wedding, fight for what you want. If you are not satisfied with what you are getting request another coordinator.

I really really wish I had worn tennis shoes the entire time! My husband is 6'4" and I am 5'3" so I wore heels to make myself seem taller, very stupid Idea. I changed to tennis shoes (nice ones!) later on for the reception and illuminations and Im glad I did.

What I wouldn't change? getting married at Disney. My mom almost talked me out of it and I am so glad that we did. Im also glad we had the caracture artist, that allowed a lot of our family and friends to get to know each other better, and it wasn't at all expensive.

I'm glad you said this one! I'm 5'4'' he's 6'4'' and I am now definitely going to buy flat shoes!

I would have fought for what we wanted. Our DL FTW SM came from WDW FTW and wasn't fully aware of what could be done at DL. So he constantly told us that we couldn't ahve what we wanted. We wanted our reception in the animation building at DCA, cocktail hour at the Vineyard, possible seating for MSEP. We were told a firm no. Then a few months later they offered this to another couple. This really frustrated us. ANother thing I would ahve done was had the inpark photos. They started this less than a month before our wedding and when offered to us (it was something we kept asking about) as a new option we weren't able to budget it in.

Getting married at DL. It was the location of DH and my first BIG date.

I would have had a small custom wedding instead of intimate so I could have had a private reception dinner.

I would not change having it at Disney and having the Grand 1 for us and our guests for Wishes. Oh and definitely would not change having Randy as our photographer.

Everything I would have changed I will do when we have a VR. :)

The one thing I would have changed was I would have decorated SBP. It was nice but it could have used flowers.

The one thing I would not have changed was staying at the Boardwalk. It was a great experience walking from our room, through the hotel and down the boardwalk and getting all the congratulations from other disney guests.

The only thing I can think of that I'd of changed was having more then one layer of my cake be chocolate with the peanut butter cup filling. It was the BEST cake I've ever had, everyone is still talking about it.

The one thing I wouldn't change if you paid me is Randy. Our pictures are gorgous, I can't rave about them enough. Every picture shows us happy, and truly enjoying our day. There isn't a single one of us looking like pleeeeaseeee no more pictures. And that's a HUGE thing for me because we both hate pictures, but Randy made them perfect. We must have had close to 2 hours of pictures and they're all beautiful, and I'd be hard pressed to find more then 2 or 3 that I don't love.

Melissa

P.S. For comfortable height consider platform flip flops, my hubby is 6 foot and I'm 5 foot. They worked perfectly, and my feet were comfy the whole day.

I WISH that I had kept a lid on the invitation list so that I could have afforded a dessert illuminations/fantasmic party--or spoke up and had it as my rehearsal dinner.

I"m not sure if i understand the second question...but the one thing that I NEVER would have changed is having it at the Atlantic Dance Hall. DH agrees!

The one thing I would have changed was probably more of an exit - I wish we had gone with The Breathless that would have rocked (can you say Vow Renewal?)

The one thing I'm glad I didn't change or compromise on was our guest list - I just kept on inviting people we had a budget of 50 people but as some of my A's dropped out I just went ahead and invited those on the B List, and everyone whenever they were invited were truly touched by the invite and had the time of their lives which in turn made for a truly magical time for Paul and I.

Honestly, I would not have changed one thing, it was an absolutely perfect day. Often you hear brides say "it was perfect except . . " or "everything was great but . . ." and I have no exceptions - our Intimate wedding was exactly what we wanted and everything about it exceeded my expectations!

The only thing that could have been different was out of my hands as my mom passed 4 months before the wedding, but she was still at my wedding

Sam--I'm curious--how did you do the response cards for your A/B list. I had a REALLY hard time getting my guests to commit one way or another. I would have loved to have done that...it might help other brides if you had a good system:)

The one thing I would have changed is I would have made a much bigger stink with my EM about the lack of communication with the DJ. The DJ was the only thing that went wrong at our wedding.

I wouldn't change 3 things: having the wedding at Disney, the reception at ADH, or the rain during Illuminations.

I would have forced my seamstress to bustle up my train completely...none of this "sweep" crap, I don't care if it looked romantic or whatever, it got stepped on all night, and DH even stepped on it and pulled it out...

Everything else was perfect! :) Carriage, photographers, dinner, cake, location...everything!

I would have a different dress and I would have gotten Cinderella's carriage.

I would not change anything else!!! It was a perfect day!!:tink:

The first thing I did was send out Save the Date Newsletters and a response card, for our List A. The response cards basically asked them if they'd be able to make it. We had guests from all over the world coming in so we pretty much had given a lot of info in the newsletter so that they could make the decision of whether or not they would spend the money to fly to Orlando. This is where I managed to sweep out a big chunk of our A list, I had also put in a date that they had to get the card back to me. LOL maybe people know what I'm like but we got every single card back - we had put s.a.e. on those we sent out here in the UK.

So it was a very quick turn around when I knew who of my A list couldn't make it so the B list invitees got their Save The Dates, with a different response date pretty quick after that.

During the course of the 8 months of planning we knew that a few people would drop out and at the same time we heard that some of our other friends would also be at Disney at the same time as our wedding so for those I sent them an email stating that I hope they won't be offended by the late invite but I just heard that you will be in WDW during our wedding and you simply must come!! - LOL they weren't going to say no ;)
