Monday 26 October
I apologise in advance for the number of photos I am about to post. I find DLP so very beautiful at Halloween with all the autumn colours as well as all the Halloween decorations I cant help snapping away like mad.
Our train from St Pancras wasnt until 9.53 so we had no real rush this morning. However, I hadnt yet packed so I set the alarm nice and early to get that done. As some of you now know, I had forgotten to change my alarm over from BST to GMT so I actually got up an hour earlier than I needed to! Husband drove us to Uxbridge and we got a tube from there to Kings Cross. All those poor people going to work while we were all set for Disney.

The musicians were playing as usual to get us all in the mood.
Soon we were ready for the off.
After Ashford the train was full. We passed the time by reading
and playing DS games against each other....and the dog.
As we neared Disney, an announcement was made that the Disney staff had not had enough time to get round everybody who had booked Disney Express. I imagined some people must have been feeling very anxious if they were expecting to receive their park tickets on the train.
We decided to go straight to the Newport Bay, as we had heard there are often lengthy queues to check in we decided to get it over and done with.
The walk around the lake was very beautiful. There was a construction next to the lake which I assumed was for the fireworks the following week. It reminded Dtr and I of a scene from Lord of the Rings, so every time we passed it we would say Gondor calls for aid. If you havent seen the film, that will seem a little random to you.
It was busy at the hotel. There was a sign up asking guests to have only one member of their party queuing to check-in, so when I saw about 30 people in front of me I was a bit worried. However, everybody else had ignored the sign and they were in groups of 4, 5 or even more so I was checked in within about 15 minutes.
Our room was ready for us, on the ground floor with a view of the lake, which was a nice bonus. We had only one bed, but that was fine for us.
After unpacking and taking lots of photos,
we decided to go to the Village and have our main meal at Annettes. It was good time to go as we were seated straight away. We ordered a footlong hotdog and rocknroll burger (both with chips) then dtr and I had half and half of each meal. I had a bottle of water and Dtr had a banana and caramel Hippy Shake and the whole thing came to less than 30 (with shareholder discount).
It was just before 5 oclock when we entered the Park to find the Parade was just arriving at the bottom of Main Street. Although it was busy it wasnt too difficult to find a good spot to watch from.
After this passed we went into Frontierland where 4 CMs were doing face painting for anyone who cared to join the small queue. This year there was no charge. As they only did one cheek the wait wasnt too long and Dtr was soon sporting a sparkly pumpkin.
After this we spent the rest of the evening going on rides. The longest queue was for POTC but most of them were walk-ons. We managed POTC, Indiana Jones, Phantom Manor, Snow White, Pinocchio, BTM and IASW. Even BTMs queue was only 20 minutes long. As the Park was open until 10 we had time to revisit our favourites, so we finished off with walk-ons for POTC, Snow White and Pinocchio. We shopped our way down Main Street and then through the Village and then walked back to the Newport Bay where we were so tired we went straight to our room. Although we stayed 4 days, I never really got the lay-out of the hotel/the lifts/our room straight in my mind. It disoriented me each time we went back to our room. Fortunately the bed was very comfortable and we were soon asleep.
