Tuesday 27 October

We were both up at 6 o’clock today as we had chosen a 7 o’clock breakfast each day. I was surprised at how busy the 7 o’clock breakfast slot was and people were queuing up the stairs by the time we came out.

It was busy during EMH too, although it doesn't look it in those photos. . We went round twice on Buzz to start our day off in the right way! Dtr won on both occasions. Next she went on Space Mountain by which time it was 9 o’clock and Buzz was showing a wait time of 50 minutes. We went into Fantasyland and Peter Pan also showed 50 minutes, but I said it looked a bit less than that so we queued and were off again by 9.35. We noticed that the rope to Adventureland had already dropped – I can only assume the place was already so busy that they opened up early.

Pirates was experiencing technical difficulties so we headed to Indiana Jones instead and Dtr was on and off again very quickly. Pirates was still closed so after taking a couple of ‘isn’t it lovely and sunny here in France’ shots .......

....we went to Phantom Manor and then walked to Cottonwood Creek to see all the baby pumpkins growing.

At 10.30 the face painters came out so we both had our cheeks done.

We couldn't resist posing by this couple. I don't know if you can see what is written on their t-shirts, bit one says 'I'm Bad' while the other says 'I'm Bad Too' so Dtr's sign says 'I'm Baddest'

We browsed the stalls at Agrabah Bazaar and then went into Fantasyland going via the Castle, already wearing it's MNSSHP banner.

Although Halloween season was still in full swing, Belle’s Christmas Village was up and open for trade. It’s very confusing!

I really wanted to go on Casey although queue was 30 minutes – I really love that little train. After that we walked towards the Castle where Aurora’s show was going on and we bought a couple of things in the Confiserie des Troi Fees.

We saw Minnie’s Halloween Party Train as we walked along Main Street.

We left the Park to get our lunch at the New York Deli – it was warm enough to sit outside and eat. It did bring back reminders of eating there in summer – it certainly wasn’t as hot as that time!

More later......

We went back to the Newport Bay then for a little rest in our room. We both fell asleep so were ready for the late night ahead. We were just coming out of the Village and heading towards the Park when a woman came up to us and asked if we were going into the Park . I said yes and she thrust some paper into my hand saying “I’m going home and can’t use these – you may as well have them”. I glanced down and realised they were meal vouchers, so thanked her very much and went on our way. Well, I looked and looked and read the small print but nowhere did it say the vouchers could not be transferred, so it seemed I wouldn’t be breaking any rules to use them, so I put them in my bag to try out.

On entering the Park we picked up our MNSSHP bracelets (red this year) and went into Frontierland. We had cleaned off our earlier facepaint and hoped to be ‘redone’ but there wasn’t enough time before our booking at the Silver Spur .

This was very busy and they were turning people away who hadn’t booked. This didn’t stop some people asking if they could be squeezed in and, in one case, insisting on seeing the manager. I felt quite sorry for the maitre d’ as he was having a hard enough time juggling those of us waiting who did have a booking. This one guest kept saying “ but maybe if someone doesn’t turn up you could fit us in”. The CM said “please sir, look around at all these people waiting . They HAVE all turned up” In the end the manager came and very politely but firmly told him he was out of luck.

We didn’t wait too long and had an enjoyable meal (steak for me and chicken for Dtr). Dtr entertained me with her drawing as usual.I'm not sure I like the 5 o'clock shadow she has given me, though.:sad2:

We got €21.90 off the meal thanks to the vouchers (if you are reading this, kind anonymous lady – thank you so much) and were back out of there by 7.40.

MNSSHP was due to start at 8.00 but Phantom Manor was already open to those with wristbands so we went on for a ride. Then we went to BTM which was practically empty – we were able to walk all the way to the stairs down to the ride before we came to the end of the queue. We saw Goofy outside for a photo and lined up for a short while to see Minnie in her Halloween gear.

There was mist pouring down over Fort Comstock which changed colour regularly and was quite spooky to walk through.

5-2.jpg

The Merlin show was taking place in Fantasyland so Snow White was practically a walk on. We went from there to IASW. Mulan was standing outside here and had time for a chat as well as a photo before we went on the ride.

6-2.jpg

We were walking back passed the entrance of the Labyrinth when we saw Mickey standing there with only 1 person near him. There is something thrilling about coming across a character when you didn’t expect it –especially when there is hardly anyone else around.

7-2.jpg

After a photo with him we went on POTC, where we were on our own in a boat and in the front seat – yet amazingly we resisted buying the ride photo. (Am I the only one who feels a little bit spooked when there is nobody else around on Pirates – I scare myself with the thought that maybe this time that swinging pirate will come to life and actually drop into the back of the boat with us, mwahahaha)

From here we went outside Chalet Au Marionette where there was a little pin trading taking place. You could try to win a Halloween lanyard and pin by rolling 3 sixes on a dice, but as we didn’t win I bought the lanyard and pin anyway.

We saw that Captain Jack was outside Peter Pan and had very little queue so we went to see him. He was very funny, singing along to the Happy Halloween song that was blasting out everywhere. He was also using his eyebrows to ‘dance’.

7a-2.jpg

Next we went on Peter Pan, which had a ten minute queue, then onto Snow White and Pinocchio as they had no queues at all. Going back into Frontierland we saw Cruella, King John and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Cruella was in good form, telling the Sheriff to get away from her, as she could smell him a while away. King John would sign autographs only for those people who could bow down properly to him!

Dtr rode BTM again and we decided to finish off with rides on Snow White, Pinocchio and Peter Pan.

Castle looking spoooooooooky

We walked then down to Town Square to wait for the Cars Cavalcade at 11.15pm. We had an off-duty CM standing next to us ( a young English chap) and it was quite funny to listen to him chat to his friends. We waved at all the characters and then followed the end of the parade.

12-2.jpg

Dtr was lucky enough to be right next to Esmerelda and Clopin when they darted off to find a place to pose for photos, so she was first in line for an autograph. Two more ‘firsts’ for her.

13-2.jpg

As we went to leave we saw Gaston and Dtr asked him to sign her book and he said “why?” so Dtr said “I would like your autograph” and he said that was no reason so she said “ It’s because you’re so handsome” and he beamed and said that was the correct answer!

We left then, but still had enough energy to do a bit of shopping, so it was 12.30 before we got back to our room. Time for a SLEEEEEEEEEEP.

I just loved reading your day 2. Makes me look forward to when my girls are older & we can do things like this together without someone being tired/hungry/crying/falling asleep! Brillant photos too.
