Carson city is not that big. It is actually dead at night. It was about a 25 minute drive to the golf course. I would stay there again.

Actually quite a bit of it has closed down. They have a Khols and a JC penny's

Reno had a big mall that closed up also. The economy is not good there.

I drive 100 miles for those stores. People in Tahoe, just live out of sight from thier shopping areas.

NV has lots of problems. I suspect income tax may not be far away.

Funny you should say that, when we paid for dinner they had a sign saying they were charging tax for comps and something else. I was shocked. It will take a while before they no longer hurt. Some of the older casinos in Reno even closed down.

It's sad to say, but yes I'm looking forward to being off for six weeks. I never understood before how anyone would want to have surgery just to get out of work and now I know. I've always like working before.

Gambling has taken a big double hit in NV. Poor economy and competion from new resorts like in Asia and local Indian Casinos.

Reno is really crappy, doesn't compare one bit to The Strip.

Once thing I've found rather nice about Vegas is if I stay at a hotel that I had in the past the price is the same. It's even worked out like this a dozen years later. Far better than comparing what I paid for gas a decade ago.
