I'd have to say I watched less than an hour. I saw about 10 minutes of skiing, 10 minutes of skating, and about 30 minutes total of the opening/closing ceremonies.
Probably around 3 hours, but maybe a little less. When I was younger, I always liked the Winter Olympics better because I always thought it would be so cool to bobsled or luge. This year, there was really nothing that I wanted to watch. I watched a little hockey, some figure skating, and more skiing than anything else. Still, I was bored by it all this year.
I watched all of the prime time coverage...what can I say, I'm just an Olympics nut. I'm dying for Vancouver and London (gonna try to get tix for those).
We did watch several hours daily, but as it was in the same timezone that was easy.
And we had a lot of medals to celebrate as we won the medal count second time in a row
Ditto. I found the ice skating (normally my favorite) to be very uninspired. Whether that's because of the new scoring method or the people performing, I still don't know. Yeah, there were a few good moments, such as the girl from Turkey who made it all the way to the finals, but for the most part, it was a yawner.
Most of the stuff I watched was TIVO'd so I could fast forward through the boring stuff. Loved almost all the snowboard events, especially the 4 person race. I want to see more of that!! I also enjoyed the short track skating and even the curling.
All and all I thought the presentation by NBC was just OK. I hope they do a better job with the summer games of 2008 in China. That should be fascinating.
less than 15 minutes. I typically wouldn't watch any, but I did watch the medal ceremony for Apollo Ohno. (mom was watching it for the close up of ohno. )
I watched as much of it as I possibly could - I love all the events in the winter olympics!
The BBC coverage of it was useless of course, so a big thanks goes to Eurosport for showing everything live, including the beautiful closing ceremony last night!
I have to say that I "watched" almost all the coverage that was on tv (this inlcudes USA, MSNBC, NBC, the extra stuff like Olympic Ice and the Direct TV recaps) so that's about 10-12 hours a day of taped material, but I will admit to fastforwarding through any event that wasn't too exciting. But there were many events that I don't think I would have otherwise watched and liked if I hadn't just Tivo'd everything and chose from there
