Remember these?

Always wanted to stay in them when I was a kid.

Anyone get to stay in these and/or have any photos to share?

Try searching treehouses, i just saw some lovely pictures of them last week, can't remember where, probably in the resort section.

I always wanted to stay there as well, what of them survive are now used to house Disney service staff, and I hear they are pretty bad.

There are Videos of the Tree house Villas on YouTube
made by some of the CM from other countries.

The inside of these still look like the 80s and have not
been updated.

Yea, looked like some of those foreign exchange students were high on something the way those videos were taken.:drinking1

I thought the videos were so funny. :rotfl:
Since I couldn't understand all of what they were saying
I was making up my own Dialogue of what they were saying.
Which made it even more Entertaining. :lmao:

Did you see the Video in which they were having the party
and I don't know how they could fit that many people in that
room? I am surprised it did not collapes from the weight.
:scared:

I've never stayed in them, but here's a picture for you.

I stayed in the treehouse villas with my family about 15 years ago. I didn't realize that you can't stay there anymore! we had a nice time in them. my biggest memory is feeding some sort of large bird out on the deck every morning.

I stayed there when I was very young with my family-- we split a treehouse with my aunt and cousins. I remember having the best time that trip, but my memories of the villa itself are pretty vague....

I'd love to see pictures as well. There is another thread around on here talking about he legal tie-ups on updating the area.

OMGoodness! We were going to stay there on our first family Disney Vacation but opted for off site at a timeshare. Wish we did, I'm sad they got rid of them, what do they use them for now, anyone know about this?

I also stayed at the Treehouses with my family when I was a kid. All I can really remember of them was the neat staircase on the way to the second floor and the peacocks outside that wandered around and pecked at the ground floor sliding door window at night, kind of freaked me out, but it of course was still so much fun!!

Here's a picture taken in 2001 from the boat to DTD:

What kind of amenities did you have when you stayed at the treehouses?
Did they have their own pool and food court or restraunt?
Did you have to trek up those longs staircases just to get to your treehouse everyday or did they have elevators?

We have stayed at POFQ our last few stays at WDW and when you take the boat to Downtown Disney you float right by them. Well anyway this last trip we had a very talkative boat driver and he told us that Disney had to stop using them when the Handicap assessable law went into affect and they had a problem refitting them, so they were empty for a long while but recently they started using them to house the students/workers that come from other countries to work for Disney

We stayed in the Treehouses everytime we went until we bought at OKW...It was a great option for us. IT had 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, laundry and a full kitchen and livingroom.

2 bedrooms upstairs with the 2 baths, livingroom and kitchen. Laundry and 3rd bedroom in the base of the "tree"

I remember the downstairs bedroom's bed was hung on ropes and would swing.

We never really used the outside area of the treehouse because it was always dirty with "tree litter" and the peacocks would take over the balcony area. You'd wake up in the morning and they would all be snuggled up against the floor to celiling windows downstairs.

The area had a pool...it was a regular pool with an actual "deep end"!!

No restaurants, you had to go down the Disney Inst. for any services. Check in was at the Club Villas where Saratoga Springs is now being built.

Cool-could you tell me more about the swinging bed? Was it like a hammock?

And did the peacocks run wild?

Sounds like a neat place for a honeymoon :)
