Hi all,

As we all know, and have already talked about, the hand luggage restrictions are easing off somewhat. BAA now have a PDF for the new rules, and can be downloaded here.

Happy travels!

:goodvibes:

Thanks for the link. Now, will it change again between today and October 14?

Rather hastily I went and purchased two flight bags to suit the previous restrictions. We'll find a use for them.

Great news - it means I can use the bag I bought specially for hand luggage (pre August terrorist alerts!)

I was having SO much trouble fitting everything into those tiny useless things...

Still only 1 bag though - previously we used to take a carry-on bag plus the camcorder bag - i have one of those oversized carrybags for it which handily swallowed up our travel docs, mp3 players, etc, so everything electrical was in one bag. normally stowed it under the seat in front, which i don't think you're allowed to do anymore?

Do you think mousse foundation would be considered solid or liquid!!

Good news on the contact lense issue for my friend though. Can't wait to finish work to tell her

Definitely a liquid unfortunately! she may be able to purchase some airside (i.e. after security), but check with your airline as USA flights are subject to additional restrictions as set by the airline, not the airport. By the same note, lip balms aren't allowed either as it's a gel.

With regards to contact lens solution - they are very specific in pointing out it has to be a very small amount, and only enough for the lenses to go into in their little holders - if she takes the whole bottle, expect it to be binned before being allowed through.

It says on that wonderful link that bazzanoid supplied that you can take the sealed disposable ones in your hand luggage so long as it was just for the flight. This is just what she intends to do. It would only have been £1 to throw away but she would definately prefer not to wear her glasses.

Thanks for this great link

Susan
