'cause we got him first ;)

This has to be the earliest I've EVER filed. Usually taxes make me grumpy, but this year I feel good. All the forms I needed came in today. Nothing too difficult to figure out.

...And I owed for a change too, go figure :confused3 It Looks like my state and federal will balance each other out with just enough left over to pay for the tax software and filing :rotfl:

How's everyone else doing? This year I can offer moral and caffeinated support instead of the other way around. Hehe.

So who's joining me in brewing up the coffee for everyone on Apr15th? Oh, I'm just rubbing it in now ... sorry (not really)

Hubby just did ours tonight - we finally got our house tax info yesterday. We did pretty good, as a matter of fact we got about 1500.00 extra than we did last year. Hubby gave me the go ahead to finish paying for our Disney April trip. We've got enough left over cash, we may buy a new TV for our living room and make some renovations to our bathroom.

T.

We got our state back Wednesday and federal was in the bank this morning. DH sends them in before the tax offices even open.

Too cool T! Totally enjoy that April trip (ironic timing) ;)

That's amazing! I'd love to send our in the 2nd day of the year... if I could get my hands on my W2 info that early.

We also had ours in before the IRS was officially accepting them! State came in Wednesday, federal should be deposited tomorrow.

This is the first year we have the child credit, plus I am now a SAHM, so we qualified for the EIC. We were excited to file for once. (I was used to owing or just breaking even!)

I did mine last night during the State of the Union address. Seemed fitting somehow :).

We'll do ours around July or so we file an extension every year because my wife has a lot of stuff sent over from England

I'm just waiting for one more form and I'm going to do mine. I bought my first home in 09 so I'm looking forward to my rebate this year!

I ordered my tax software, does that count?? I don't even have all my information yet in order to fill them out?? :confused3

Ours is never sent in before 4/1. We have been burnt on the 3/15 date to fix things before so we wait until after that date to finalize our taxed. I do the ground work in Frbruary and then wait for the magical date to pass.

I'll fill out the cursed thing this weekend. We don't make that much money at all, and we have extra held out every year and claim 0 but we still usually have to pay..cannot figure out why:confused3
The only glitch in our income is my second job where they don't take out any federal because I make so little, and I put 30% of that to retirement so only clear about 2K a year on that, but it must be what is messing us up. This past year when they did the take out less thing we didn't fall for it, so hopefully we had enough taken out. It would be nice just to break even :)

Our paperwork went to our accountant last weekend but he'll be doing corporate stuff through the 31st.

DH had contract income on top of his full time job for the first time in 2009. We set 1/3 of it aside for taxes. So, we will probably owe for the first time this year but we shouldn't owe ALL of it. Almost like an instant refund, right?

If it were just me, I would probably have used tax software but DH has used this accountant for YEARS and we just love him. Plus, we call him or email him year round and he is ALWAYS more than willing to help with any questions.

We filed yesterday. Between having the third kid last year and home improvements, we did really good. We're paying off our Poly trip and then doing some more home improvements.

I'm just waiting on 2 W2s to finish ours. I can estimate pretty close to what DH made but it's the other numbers that I'm not sure on so that could swing our return up a lot or down a lot.

I did ours last night!!

We are getting a nice chunk back that will go toward paying our car off. My husband and I were talking about changing his deductions(so we would get it during the year), but he thought he already had it at 12 deductions and that if he had in more then that he would have to fill out extra paperwork with HR and the IRS. We itemize because we have mortgage interest and other stuff plus we have four kids and one of them is in college.

Just got off the phone with our awesome CPA and he says it looks like the deductions will take care of the taxes on DH's 1099. That would mean the money we saved for taxes could go to his car- our only remaining non-mortgage debt!

I'm so glad that we don't have to fool with state taxes. We did that one year when DH worked in Lousiana and it definitely made us more grumpy. ;)

We would love to file if only we'd get our W-2's and mortgage info. Everyone is real slow this year.

We did pretty well. We installed energy efficient heating/cooling and had a kid... so our return was much better than we had anticipated.

Ours is paying off our Lowes bill. We got new carpet last year. :)

Anything left over I will put towards our car insurance. I pay for the entire year in one lump sum.

I was expecting our refund to pay for half our trip, its paying for all of it.

Despite our agi going up almost 10k, we had plenty of deductions

I filed our state and federal returns yesterday and was more than pleasantly surprised. Lets just say that the tax man is my friend this year!
