***The official September, 2016 Thread !!!***

We are booked September 24th-October 1st at POFQ! This will be my 10th trip to WDW (11th Disney trip total including Disneyland Paris!). This will be the first time it will solely be me, my husband, and our two kids (4.5 and 7 at time of travel). We are always there with extended family that aren't the best to travel with. I am SO excited! We actually have free reign to go wherever we want, whenever we want, and eat at any place we please! I'm really hoping we will be there for F&W, but am just happy we'll at least get to do MNSSHP! I was there once in October before, but we didn't go the party.

Waiting until after our trip in 31 days (Sept 19 thru Sept. 26th 2015) to book our 2016 trip. We have some of it planned out already.

Sept. 24th thru Oct. 1st, 2016.
Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter
MNSSHP tickets along with the F&W Festival

We are going with my sister and bro-in-law and their two kids (9 y/o female, 4 y/o male).
Since the two turdburglars are still cheaper than the adults we are paying for them (Christmas and b-day presents for both of them)
It will be my bro-in-law, niece and nephews first trip to WDW and my DW and I's 7th trip in our 7 years of being married. :)
My DW and I will be doing most of the planning with input from the others. They have a few things they would like to do but aren't too picky which makes things a bit easier.

More updates will come over the next 397 days before the trip. :) lol

My family and I will be there the exact same dates at POFQ :)

After previously visiting in June, we were very happy with the lack of crowds in early September 2012. It wasn't empty by any means, but at least there were some quiet times. We found that the week that includes Sept 11 was very low crowd, with a slight but noticeable increase in crowds as the month progressed. September 2013 seemed very similar to us. In 2014, we went a little later in the month to catch the start of Food and Wine and found the crowd level to be higher. It was still better than going at a busy time of year, but for 2016 we decided to move back to earlier in the month to try to get it a little quieter.

thanks so much for the feedback! This is so helpful! We are actually booked for 9/8-9/16 so it sounds like we might have picked a good time. :cool1:

That makes sense about the crowds increasing later in the month for food & wine. We did F & W in 2011 during our honeymoon and were at epcot on the last day of F&W this year so won't feel the need to repeat next year. I hadn't thought about being there on 9/11 but I think that will actually be kind of nice. Not sure if you or anyone else here watches Joe & Ashley's videos (See Ya Reel Soon on youtube) but I think they were there on 9/11 and the flag retreat ceremony at MK that day was really something special. :grouphug: Something we have never made it to, so that may be a good plan.

thanks again!!

Hi everyone my DD 10 and I will be to Disney for the 7 th time since 2008. 3rd year in a row for Food and wine and Mnsshp. We are stay AKL savanna view Sept.25-Oct.1 I'm super excited to stay for first time AKL. We both love animals so thought it would be a great fit.. Hey guys and greetings from Australia will be there for third time (2008 April,2012 October) still early stages but fly into Dallas Fort Worth on September 14 and Return October 9th.
Looking at a Sunday to Friday stay either 18th to 23rd or 25th to 30th. Travelling with 22 year old daughter who enjoys Disney as much as me I'm 56.
This time a friend of hers same age is coming from Texas for a week I'm tossing up between two rooms at Pop to give them some space and privacy or Suites at Music or AoA.
Thinking there should be a room only discount at that time and maybe free dining Did Halloween Party in 2012 on Halloween night and is still talked about today Might do a VIP day at Epcot or food and wine festival for myself while they do their thing.
Really looking forward to keeping up to date with fellow September visitors

We are booked for September 10-19th at the Wilderness Lodge. We love visiting in September, and this will be our fourth trip there in the last five Septembers.

We also have a list going in the Resorts Board of where people are staying in September at: http://www.disboards.com/threads/september-2016.3440424/

We are planning our first family trip to Disney September 12-22. We have 4 kids and in laws are going. I am the only one who has been as a child but dad is not a good vacationer. One morning in MK left when it rained and one day at Epcot. I have been dreaming of taking my own kids since age 13 (I'm going to turn 38 at Disney! (21st). So would love some real heart to heart. We live out of the county so getting there and home again is already $3000. We have another $7000 to spend. I have two room reserved at Pop that if they offer free dining will be $5600. Leaving $1400 for anything else we eat or do. I also have an offer to stay at WBC for $988 for the two bedroom. A rental car for 8 is about $1200 for the 10 days plus gas, and parking at WDW 5 days. Tickets for 5 days $2600, Leaving $2200 for food and every else. Our kids are 12 Sept 19th, 10 (in July), 8 Sept 13th and 6 Sept 6th. You can see why we picked Sept! Please share good and bad, chances for a second trip will be 10 years away so want you all to be real with me. Thanks is advance.

:welcome:MommyinHonduras !!! Glad you are following the group !

Yes! We love the Halloween party! But we've never been in September, so hoping for low crowds! And it's my birthday on the 9th!

I think a little of both! We're going to have some meals together and some separate. Plus a lot of people have different tastes in rides so I think each smaller group will be in charge of their own FP+. I'll make a loose schedule so everyone knows where we're going to be and when and they can work off that or make their own plans elsewhere.

That's awesome ! Sounds like you have a good solid plan. Hope you have a great time !

Yeah i read that too. That is kinda sad, but understandable.. I guess it's just the world we live in now.

We were going to skip WDW for Paris, France this year however after doing more in depth calculations we could go but would be worried about how much we could spend while there, I just can't do Europe like that. So we decided to do Florida for 2 weeks. We will be staying at All Star Movies, a first for us as we always stay at POP and always thought we would go mod next but it is what it is, from Sept 25-30 and then will be going to a rental home for 6 nights and will be doing TL one day, Universal Studios and our anniversary will be occurring while we are there so will be celebrating probably at Disney Springs and dinner at one of the new restaurants. I am extremely excited. I know that sounds odd to be happier about Florida then Paris but it is what it is. We will also be driving down there for the first time, leaving on the 24th and hoping to be there on the 25th, and am extremely nervous about that as my DH is not so good with directions, lol. We will not be doing the DDP this trip as I didn't book the BB in September and don't want to deal with the headache of waiting to see if FD is available or not this year. We will be doing 2 TS, one breakfast and one dinner.

I look forward to planning with everyone!!!!

Just read an article that they will no longer be allowing adults to dress up for MNSSHP :( that's kind of a bummer.

From what I've read they haven't made a final decision on MNSSHP yet. They may allow costumes just no masks or facepaint and obviously toy weapons. They will probably advise a final decision around the time the tickets go on sale.

We are here! Just booked our 2016 vacation for fall this year instead of our usual May. Staying Sep 4-12 in a preferred room at Pop Century. We stayed there our last trip and fell in love with Pop. We love AOA also but , those little mermaid rooms are a killer to walk back and forth several times a day. Hoping for free dining later this year! (crossing fingers!!). Our DD will be 4 this trip and she is excited, she wants to ride the horseys (the carousel-we were going to ride last year but it went down for some reason). Super excited to Soar over the World! Hopefully Soarin will be open when we are there, if not, I may just cry.

Anyone know when park hours are normally released?! I'm ready to start planning!!
Thinking of starting a PTR just to help the time past, just not sure what I would talk about yet!

Well, changed my dates and resort since I last posted! Lol. I'm booked 9/6-9/13 (my exact dates from this past September) on the upgraded free dining BB at Pop. So excited! First time staying at Pop :jumping1:
I may push my trip back just by one day if MNSSHP starts the 13th though.
