***The Official October 2016 Thread***

Hi there! I am taking my first solo trip to WDW from Oct 18-26 staying at POP!

Short back story:
Impending separation from husband + children that don't feel the Disney Magic anymore= Mommy goes to celebrate by herself!

I did a solo Disneyland trip in Feb of this year for a couple days, it was tagged onto a trip to visit family in Vegas. I loved it! It was much shorter than this endeavor, but there's just so much more to see and do at WDW so it warrants the extra time. Also, having been to WDW many times before it's not as daunting knowing my way around and such.

Can I just tell you how stoked I am? LOL!

I really want to take a solo trip one day. Doing what I want all the time at Disney sounds pretty awesome!

I have done a solo trip to WDW and had a great time! You will meet so many nice people and never feel alone ! And at the time you will be at POP we will be at BLT so you will have at least one DIS friend there to help you drink and eat around the world ! :yay:

Awesome! I had a blast at DL in Feb, even had some random family's kids ride POC with me instead of their parents! Lots of fun!!

Go you!

It was something I had never considered before my trip to DL in Feb. But it makes sense since I know WDW so well!

OMG.

Fastpass open for me this weekend and we still have no idea about ROL or if the Star wars show will still be running at DHS... If DHS has 2 shows at the same time, I need to plan two DHS night! Kind of important lol.

I know how you feel!! Both Fantasmic and Star Wars Fireworks are must-do's for us so this info is definitely needed soon!!

YES. I'm having a really hard time with our HS day b/c I don't know about the shows. It's very frustrating!

The stress! The drama! More planning *panic*! We're going to the Darkside in Oct. Had planned on POR two night stay combined with this and just MNSSHP. Then our Feb trip with friends turned into an IL extravaganza (so 9 days instead of 6) and I had to cancel the POR piece of Oct. Fine. We've done MNSSHP before and while it would be really fun, we can't afford everything. Fastforward to this week... Celebrating my Aunt's 60th birthday at my other Aunt's beach house on the gulf coast of FL (along with my mom, two aunts, two uncles & their wives, at least 4 cousins & spouses - but not sure when it the 6 day trip people will be around). Last year we did a jaunt over to the Christmas party and a BOG dinner (birthday Aunt's first trip to Disney!) as a surprise to Birthday-Aunt and my Mom. Soooo... my aunt and I are now planning a single day (non-weekend!) to Epcot for F&W! We'll celebrate by eating around the world and Birthday-Aunt and her DH can have their first Epcot experience (his first WDW trip!).

Sooooo - SUPER excited but have to call and see if I can beg/get some pixie dust to cancel the memory maker I already purchased for Feb because now it really makes more sense to get an AP for me (plus TiW since we're renting points in Feb and not doing an package)!

Long story short - I now have a tentative date for Oct 17 with potentially a huge extended family group! I'll only be there for 4 of the 6 days and outside of my 2 aunts, mom, and uncle, not sure of who would go with us on Monday (I'm leaving DH & the kids home - I've got Mon & Tues off from teaching bc I'm in a Hebrew Day school but my kids don't have it off and we're already pulling them out two weeks prior for Universal). So for me, F&W without kids! Happy Dance!

Sounds amazing!!

And they should be able to credit you the cost of MM toward your AP purchase :)

I did that with MM and AP in Feb. I had my regular ticket already purchased and my plan was to upgrade to an AP when I got there. I called first and was told they couldn't refund the MM but when I did the AP upgrade the cost of the MM would be applied to my AP. And that is what happened!

First park we went into I went to guest services and explained what I wanted to do and what the CM on the phone said. No problem! The cost of the ticket I already purchased and the MM was applied to the cost of the AP and I just paid the difference. It was easy peasy. Good luck!

I'll be getting up at midnight tonight to make my FP+ reservations. I'm so excited! I have my list of rides that my sister and I discussed and fingers crossed we are able to get our top choices.

Stay in bed. The FP+ window doesn't start until 7am now.

What? No :( This totally messes me up. I'll have to leave for work then, by the time I get home at 6pm there will be nothing left. Very sad to hear this but thanks for the heads up.

Wife and I will be taking our grand-daughter for here first trip. POFQ 10-18 to 10-22. Will be doing MNSSHP on the 20th!

Have your sister make the FP+ reservations 7am EST.

Very few *must* be booked at the 60 day mark. FEA comes to mind. Have your sister do any that you are really worried about....you'll be fine waiting a few hours to do the rest.
